- In this video you can watch how I move a Heidelberg windmill printing press from one place to another. with the help of a special company www.schwanktechnik.ch. Florian did a great job. dismantle the whole machine to fit through the narrow door at the new location.
at the new place resisted and tested. a heidelberg windmill printing press is very clever and stable. The transport with the lift truck has easily survived. more viodos from my print shop will be coming soon. the book printing is very exciting and beautiful. Moving lead and wooden letters inspire me. Soon posters, postcards, business cards and many other things will be printed.

What a great piece of machinery. I remember walking into the printing room at the newspaper where I worked and hearing two massive heidelberg presses. Or as the printers said: The ladies are making music again! Keep up the good work 👍

meine Mama hat mit Schmalfilm aufgenommen als mein Opa seinen Heidelberger bekam - das sah geringfügig anders aus :) nur mit Muskelkraft ... durch eine normal Eingangstür im Ganzen ... ist aber auch schon 50 Jahre her und in der DDR wurde das fehlende Material durch um so mehr Ideenreichtum ausgeglichen ;) ich bin sehr froh, dass Du diese Maschine und die Druckerei in Betrieb genommen hast ... ich werde wehmütig weil die Druckerei meines Opas die Wende nicht überlebt hat und ich nicht weiß, was aus den tollen Maschinen geworden ist

Very Nice! I just found a 1962 version of this machine for 160 euro about 20 minutes away from my shop! It's just so big... not sure if I have the room for it. Thanks for sharing the process of moving it.

Ähnliche Aktion hatte ich im Januar.. nur das gute Stück musste in den Keller.
Maschine zerlegt. Anlage und Ablage Tisch ab, mit allen teilen. Und sogar das Schwungrad musste ab. Den Tiegel selbst haben wir mit dem Radlader durch den Garagen Keller Abgang runter gebracht.. den Rest allein runter getragen 🙈
Nun läuft der Tiegel wieder… 🎉

Wunderschöner Original Heidelberger tiegel! Sau schön und bester Zustand
Let me see here. I'm most likely the oldest one posting here. I worked in print shops before having my own shop like in the late 70's. I worked in several shops for the experience. I learned typesetting on a photo typesetter and was damn good. I had a flare for design. I learned how to shoot film, make halftones and duotones. I could strip my film and burn my plates. I ran any number of types of offset presses. I used a windmill for engraving, numbering and petrifying. I believe my favorite press was the Chief 17, 2 color. I had a number of presses for a small shop. I would find one that close to a rag and fix it up to handle one job such as running envelopes. As I was getting out of the business I did graduate to a computer that what you saw was what you got. If you didn't come up the ranks from the old days you couldn't appreciate the old stuff or the new stuff. From paper plates, black silver plates to medal plates and now WE HAVE COPIERS. Oh yes, I had folders that would also do petrifying for just a long straight petrifying. Yes, I have been around the block. A friend asked the other day if I thought I could still run a press. I said take to one and I will show you. I worked 12 to 15 hours a day but built a fine business.
