  • The author of the NY Times bestseller, "Living with a Seal", Jesse Itzler lives life outside the box - a guy who fast-talked his way right out of college into a recording contract, the Billboard 100 and even an Emmy. He then strikes gold as an entrepreneur, creating and ultimately selling big companies like Marquis Jet and Zico Coconut Water before wooing Spanx founder (and Shark Tank guest host) Sarah Blakely all the way to the altar.
    He eats only fruit before noon. He runs 100 mile races. He raises millions for charity. And when he isn't playing super dad to his four kids, he's an in demand motivational speaker who just happens to own the Atlanta Hawks NBA franchise with a few friends. No biggie.
    So the question is: how does this guy have such an extraordinary life?
    Watch and learn.
    Enjoy!

    Jesse, In 2yrs I will be 70yrs old, yet I am always studying and learning new things. However, I am still striving to find my place in life, where I can serve others in ways they will have a healthy mind and body. Some good points and as always a brilliant podcast, thank you.

    Taking "time" into consideration is transformative for many aspects of our lives. You can hate what time does to us, or you can accept it and use it for motivation. Time will always move us forward through space, but to let it "move" us is power pure and simple. Embrace time and be friends with it. Be considerate of your new friend.

    I think these guys should watch the short doc “Never Die Easy” on RUclips. It’s an ok film but more importantly the subject and the message Dag expresses about himself. These guys are too worried and focused on their age and the number associated with it. Too many numbers and percentages, quit worrying about time and focus on the moment.

      I've had chronic mental illness since I was a kid. It's helped me ruin a lot of opportunities and wish for death. But on the flip side it's helped me do crazy shit like run after a guy threatening to shoot me after knocking out his friend. So I guess what I'm saying is we all have it bad in one way or another. Some have cancer. Your depression sounds pretty manageable but if its still around fiercely 4 years later might want to check out Feeling Great - David Burns. It's CBT journaling. Helps you realize you've actually accomplished more than you think and that's actually a better place to be if you want to accomplish more.

    most of my favorite writers were always heavily self-medicating , and the suicide option , in many , a constant companion , where would the value of their heroic lives be considered in this asinine conversation ! that said , both men in this video have a lot of good advice for a happy and exciting day , and if they hadn't gotten lost in throwing bouquets at themselves , the advice given , could on a superficial level , be a lot of fun ! p.s. Rich Roll is a Saint !

    • @nicolecorry2418
      @nicolecorry2418 6 лет назад +4

      Hit the nail on the head. Throwing bouquets at themselves was an analogy that hit it hom for me. I get that sense a lot with the men on this podcast. They do have great advice. In the same breath, I always come away feeling like many of the guests and the host tend to be missing a whole group of dynamic poeple because, for lack of a better term in my head right now, many on this show are coming from a place of privilage. Or maybe just a completely removed world from the average. At the same time, this may be the appeal of the show and why they have good advice. I haven't decided yet.

  • @XX-gy7ue
    @XX-gy7ue 6 лет назад +10

    it's unwise to fall into shallow arguments - most people never live , but conform and exist and eventually die ! if someone dies at 10 , 30 .... 70 , 90 , 100 , even before birth , their life has a value beyond human calculation ! if someone thinks of a life as a collection of events or achievements they've cheated themselves and probably ruined the day and lives of everyone around them ! nothing is more tedious than a counter !

    I'm sure it's easy to live a different life and take full advantage when you're a millionaire. From looking into this guy he seems to have done a partnership with Coco cola and Zico coconut water, which was also later bought out by Coco Cola like all good things. Not so sure about this guy's life advice when he's partnering with one of the worst companies in the world regarding health.

      No one forces anyone to drink colas. To dump on him because he's rich is a cop out. He talks about positive things. Iiving a positive life. You take from it what fits you. He's not asking you to live his life. He's saying this is my life, its grand. Yes he's a self made millionaire. Should he feel guilty for that? Relax Collibri and pay attention to the message, not the messenger. I first heard of him on Joe Rogan. He was very interesting talking good vibes. I didn't know who he was. I didn't care.

    To me this was one of the least compelling guests, although, clearly RR does his best with the situation he is faced with. I would love to see some “garden variety” vegans on the show who have made lifestyle changes due to evolved, deeply considered reasons and/or experiences. If the ethos of the show is well-known influencers how about someone like MOBY who is a committed vegan and animal activist? Or someone like Ingrid Newkirk or a PETA leader in India or an Emerging Market? I think if the podcast focuses on entrepreneurs and doctors with extended private practices and clinics it stands to appear clubby and Vegan elitist which is a less attractive niche from my perspective.

I’m looking forward to seeing the MOBY interview as well as the others you mentioned! If nothing else I suppose my reaction to the Itzler interview is good motivation for self reflection as I did find many of his comments/attitudes confronting. It’s easy to judge but ultimately more productive to look at your own triggers for judging.

    Can't stand this guest. I've listened to every podcast. For some reason, Rich does have some guests who are of this type. He falls under the spell of what I've started thinking of as the "Vegan Capitalist" personalities. Their life is about "how do we leverage these things that so many pursue to build their souls and find meaning in order to make money?" It's frustrating to hear.
