    Had the same problem on my boat and it turned out to be a large cable on the prop which we could never figure out where it came from..

    So is it a prop issue when you're tank is full or just getting used to being sluggish under load? Great work guys on the system for anchoring the reel, bummer having to wallow out a couple holes.😊

    Something round the prop? I picked up a truck tire which managed to get over all 3 blades so the prop was happily spinning but almost no thrust, it had us totally baffled until we dried out in the slip.

    How much bigger than the Fish Tale is the EI? Looks like a few yards. Is the FT up for sale?

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  9 дней назад

      The Emerald Isle is quite a bit bigger, don’t remember the exact numbers off my head but I wanna say around 2-3 feet wider and 10-12 feet longer or so. We’re keeping the Fish Tale, we’ll still fish her for smaller stuff. She’s a part of the family. 🙂

    Maybe a larger prop size with different qty of blades and blade angle?

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  12 дней назад +1

      Good guess, but nope. Nothing else changed mechanically since launching.

      Are you venting air down near the prop and therfore prop losing its effect

  • @rickmartin6256
    @rickmartin6256 12 дней назад +1

    Down here in AUS I've seen boats use thrust rings , they're basically a ring that sits around the prop and tunnels the water rather than letting it "blow out " like it is now .
    Just something to look into .

    I know it's probably too late now, but I would have suggested using a threaded seat in the hole that went into the deck beam.

  • @MrDarcykampe
    @MrDarcykampe 12 дней назад +1

    This boat used to be a troller so the prop will probably have to be changed.

    Hi there, I stopped by the boat yesterday and enjoyed meeting you both in person. You mentioned the name Al Rose, after I hobbled away, I remembered, heck, in 1972-3, I lived across the street (Mission Rd) from AL. Quite a few more memories and thoughts came back too. I watched this video of your instalation of the reel today, but while we were talking I did notice it was all installed. 😂. Like I said I really enjoy this channel and it reminds me of me growing up and fishing in Kodiak.

    First check for damage to prop(diver) But:Sounds like you might have to resize prop for what your doing

    • @EISAlaska
      @EISAlaska  6 дней назад

      Nay on the prop re-size, although the issue itself was certainly related to the prop, check it out!
