Thanks for the upload and mem😍ries!!! I recorded this on VHS and watched it a gazillion times growing up!… particularly from the moment before Liverpool’s 1st goal!
Good day. Thank you so much for the for the nicee video. Bravo! Enjoyed and liked of course. Greettings and gratitude from your new subscriber. Baku city
@@paulwilliams8389 It wasn't over the line when Johnston touched it in if you look at the ITV footage from behind the goal - it was really Johnston's goal.
Lol what a hilariously naive comment. You do know this was the final where Liverpool and Everton fans famously and passionately chanted ‘Merseyside’ together in defiance of Thatcher and her “managed decline” of the city? Read up on some history! Liverpool as a fan base, and Everton’s to a lesser extent, were very politicised in this period
I recomend that you read the Tony Evans book ' Two Tribes: Liverpool, Everton and a City on the Brink'. It seems that you know nothing about politics in the uk and especially Liverpool in the 80's. And to be thruthful, it also looks like you know nothing about what is going on in the world at the moment.
@@coatbridgebairn709 You're getting hysterical, calm down. Politics did not pervade the industry of football like it does now. Yes, it was factored in but not at the level like it is now and that is a fact. So relax.
Yeah! Because they players are better than these guys now. Haha football was best here and I'm 35 and I know that. These players could up their levels at the drop of a hat and always hit the target or win trophies, now, they cant even hit a barn door when required and everything, everything is about money. The football isn't as good as it was then you mean, to correct you.

I was a three year old in America then, but even I think Wembley is a lot better with natural light way back when.

I didn’t forget the chant from supporters from both sides “Are you watching, are you watching, are you watching Manchester.
What minute?
I loved the Everton top
Thanks for fantástic match 👌
i was there 11 yrs old haha ... what a day
I was there at 11 too with my grandad.
What a team Everton was .. If Neville Southall wasn't injured, they would have won the double, I'm sure 😮
Doubt it.
Attendance for the 1986 FA Cup Final was 98,000 fans.
I went to the Charity Shield in 81/82 villa v spurs same attendance. I was only 10.
Watched in a bar in rotterdam😊
The Jim Beglin moment 1:00:00
Everton were thoroughly demoralised after just missing out on the league to Liverpool.
They capitulated after giving away the equaliser.
Watched this live and then got fed up after 1-0, went to the cake shop and watched the end. ahahahaha
Cake shop? What century are you from? You mean the Bakers perhaps?
@@CARLIN4737 That's what I called it in the 1980s.
I want to see a VAR on Rush's goal looked like Johnstons toe nicked it
It was the dirt on the end of his boot.
Johnston was clearly behind the ball when Rush played it towards the goal. So, it was a good goal either way.
@@sicilybambolina4885 Agreed. I think it had crossed the line when Johnston touched it anyway.

No politics, no knee taking and proper un-PC banter like it should be. Oh how we long for those days. The football wasn't as great but the times were.

Ghastly all-white crowd. So glad football is more diverse and multicultural. On and off the field.
