As someone who lived most of my life a few miles from the sebring raceway, I was delighted to see this race happen. This is a track like no other. The old runways mixed with the concrete areas make it a very challenging surface to race on.

1:45:46 listen to that, man the new Corvette C8 is just such a marvelous machine. quite a different sound spectacle from the deep bass rumble of its predecessors with the all new architecture but every bit as thunderous , mind blowing and unique. high revving large bore flat plane crank n/a V8. the Americans really have stepped up yet again and made an unbelievable major leap with the all new platform. they are schooling the germans and italians, and I admit and say so being a german myself ! great and exciting racing, really spectacular !

People forget how dominant the C5.R and C6.R were in this series and the battles with the Flying Lizard Porsche. C7.R was a wash and still managed a manufacture championship.
Those Corvettes are amazing be smashed the competition they were even keeping up with the DPI drivers prototypes that's nuts how fast the new Corvettes are

Nick Tandy gave this race its only thumbs down....smh.... On Porsche.com it said that Tandy "suddenly had to dodge two Corvette's" and couldn't avoid contact. Some fake news over there on Porsche.com. Corvettes were in the lane, Porsches weren't and didn't exit cleanly...only thing they couldn't dodge was their own bad decision making. You know how Team Porsche operates when their own media dept does some CNN spin on the facts. On another note, thank you IMSA for making a great series post merger. It was a good run...hopefully this series holds together. GTLM seems like it's headed to a repeat of 2004 GTS in ALMS or so...I sure hope not.

BSB, The TT and the Ring are the only real Motorsports worth watching if you want real action and danger, everything else is watered down IMO, glad I lived the glory years and still drive a car with a real gear lever and a third pedal,.

Are the C8 Corvette teams using a flat plane v8 this year? Sounds like it might even be there dohc flat plane v8 that GM applied for a patent for several years ago.. They sound very smooth and higher pitched tone then gm's usual ohv ls/lt based engine..

Does it add costs to have a stream option with only track sounds? Series with different engines are perfect for that. WEC does (or used to) in their app and it's amazing, especially for non english speakers.

They took the early class lead, lost it in the pits, hit each other, the 912 came back into the pits for repairs, it then got penalized. Now the 911 goes off the track, what is happening?

I really miss the Dorsey Schroeder /Justin Bell commentary team. John Hinghaugh just LOVES to hear his own voice. It's also a super annoying when you see a spin/crash/incident on track and he is oblivious to it because his face is buried in the stats and who knows what... Like, watch the race first! When there's a yellow you can fill us in on your little nuggets of info. It's also nice listening to people who have actually raced in the series they're commentating.
A 5.5L quad cam engine is going to be much heavier and externally larger than the 6.2L pushrod engine. 500 hp would be easy from either. I wonder why GM ditched the lighter, more compact design.
