@@thomaseberhard9056 thanks for clarifying. shame that Porsche is no more. Now it's just BMW and GM in GTLM, hardly a series. I'm wondering when will BMW pull out too?
@@ricardop9196 hell, car manufacturers of old used to gladly pay the price of racing in order to get excitement out there about their brand. Racing has always been expensive, I think lots of manufacturers just dont care anymore. mitsubishi and nissan used to be monsters in the gt/gtlm scene in the 80's and 90's now all they do is make shitty crossovers to sell to middle aged housewives.
@IMSA I think it is easier to follow battles off screen if the ticker shows gap to the leader in class more often than the overall leader. Thank you so much for posting these, best racing series!!!
After Honda left F1, I'm going to frequent IMSA and SuperGT. Mix races is always entertaining, and the fact that they mostly use production car feels more connected.
THANK YOU IMSA May I just re-iterate that your infographics 2019 and 2020 have been excellent and way beyond the other series'! Way way better. Please keep it =) The 2019 jingle was much better though. And maybe have timings a little more often. Thank you for your work!!
I really like how WEC shows the speed distance and gear info. I forget the series but I have seen the throttle and break info as overlay when showing in car views.
@@KinuGrove Yeah no those are too gimmicky to me. They provide no entertainment and they get in the way. WEC has a graphics philosophy that seems to strain between the needs of the gamblers and the desires of the producers. Take the "8th | 33" type column. Minimum info, still claims a lot of screen estate, and I'm left thinking only people betting on specific numbers are any the wiser. If you're entirely new to racing and your first enduro is Le Mans you still haven't got every number memorized by the end of the race. (Speaking from experience). =) Different strokes and all.
Once again, thank you for uploading these races in full, for free, and in a timely manner. Thank you also for including the best commentary team in the business. I also appreciate that your graphics package is simple and functional, foregoing the gimmicks to which other series have fallen prey. However, I still have one gripe. Please bring back the manufacturer logos on the scrolling ribbon at the bottom of the screen. I find the class names redundant, since the classes are already communicated by the colors of the number panels. Moreover, these two features have been swapped multiple times throughout this season without any explanation, and I wish you'd just stick with the manufacturers. That said, this is just a nitpick, and the racing and coverage was, overall, outstanding as always.
I love IMSA, but giving the 55 and 77 drive-throughs for momentarily going 1 and 2kph respectively over the pit limit is completely unnecessary in my opinion. A more appropriate penalty in my view would have been a time penalty at the end of the race. Drive-throughs have too much impact to be getting handed willy-nilly, especially since Montoya, who damaged GTDs with his uncharacteristically reckless traffic management was handed no penalty at all. I'm not suggesting Montoya deserved a drive-through, but if minor infractions is all it takes, he should have been penalized as well.
I don't think time penalties should be awarded at the end of the race. It's confusing that the order the cars cross the finish line isn't necessarily the order in which they score points. Just add the time to their next pit stop.
@@A.F.Whitepigeon That's a great way to do it if there are any pit stops left to do. If there are no pit stops left to do, they have to add time at the end of the race.
@@StevePhoenix In that scenario, I think I'd just give a drive-through. I still think changing the results after the race is over should be avoided if at all possible. Rules are rules, and if this was implemented consistently, teams would know that penalties are harsher during the last stint and wouldn't have any excuse not to be extra careful then.
Add me to the list of commenters who think we need more intervals-by-class info (ex: knowing that all 4 GTLM cars are the same X-laps down isn't useful). Thanks for the upload!
The Toyotas are LMP1 (Le Mans Prototypes) cars, that class do not compete in IMSA, in IMSA we have the DPi (Daytona Prototype) a different kind of prototype.
OK Corevtte is faster even at a glance than the C-7R - but how could such a fast car have such a poor engine note? No trace of grunt anywhere in it - at least not via TV or stream
I love how IMSA puts these on RUclips for us! Cheers from Aus guys.
Montoya far too aggressive!
He ultimately paid the price
I don't know why they didn't use Cameron more...
Wow, you are so right. Montoya was going so good, and then that spin! He could have gone at 7/10 and got a podium, as van der zande was on a meander.
Awesome race! I really hope we can get more manufacturer's involved in these series. IMSA is definitely my favorite to watch.
don't the top teams like Corvette, Porsche (until Porsche pulled out) get full factory support and are considered factory teams?
@@WanderingSword yes indeed

same.
vln is therapy for me
I really hope more manufacturers compete in GTLM in the future.
Too expensive
i'm wondering when will BMW pulls out. If so, then GTLM series may be doomed.
@1life To live it'd be cool. But I think in order for this to happen, cost will need to be reigned in.
GT4 and TCR is where everyone is going.

Thanks for the upload! I always enjoy watching these on my off-days 😄
Agreed. I also enjoy these races a lot, the rest must wait!
Good upload, these mixed class races are always immersive
Thank you as always #IMSA
From Portugal IMSA races are much better and more exciting than F1 races you are to be congratulated
Thank You IMSA, You Always Provide Us With Great Entertainment.
Corvette!!!
Missed this live but caught up on audio. Will be nice to see the pictures now. Thanks IMSA.
IMSA Thursday’s for me coming thru like always ! Thank you IMSA!

Great year for Corvette
Another Corvette 1-2.. Awesome..the mid engined C8R Corvette. How many is that now this season.... 3?
It's probably a good idea to put a spoiler warning for comments like these. You don't want to ruin someone's viewing...
Last half hour was epic!
Thanks a lot for the upload!
Helio's 21 year tenure with Penske is coming to an end but at least he is winning some races. Thanks IMSA!
That victory lane celebration might definitely be some foreshadowing of who will be in the 10 car next year

I don't know this feeling. Somewhere in all that confusion, 74 got ahead. That counts as a victory in my books.

Could we see a BoP break on the Aston Martin, Audi, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Mclaren, and Porsche?

So, what´s going on with the GTLM´s? every time are less cars :(
Porsche drivers had to withdraw, due to a Covid issue from an earlier WEC race.
factory porsches like to run into each other in the pitlane as well lol
Why in this race the hybrids Toyotas did not participate?
