Thanks for watching! They can be quite aggressive eaters. A lot more of a predator than many people realize, but they can also survive mostly on plants in certain environments.
Awesome footage and so jealous of those big fish in shallow like that. I got out on the local river once recently and was quickly reminded how wary the clear water carp are vs the redfish back home. Only landed one on the day but missed a bunch of takes and saw plenty of fish, after they sensed me and spooked of course. I took my 11 year old cousin out to a small nearby lake to chase catfish and tossed some corn just to see and ended up with 4 commons over 30" which was great fun for my cousin as he had never been hooked into a fish that refused to give up. He ended up with a limit of catfish too and it was fun seeing his excitement that day.
OK, I took a tranquilizer and watched the video. Noticed you have a sackful of YT videos. Who operates the drone? Attended a writer's conference; one fellow did a seminar on using drones. Interesting how he used them with some videos for examples. He did say he had a couple in Davy Jone's Locker. Thanks for this video and others, past, present and future.
I also have a few in Davy Jones locker. It is an unfortunate part of the hobby to me. I have gotten much better recently though. I fly the drone myself, so it adds to the challenge for sure.
Where on Utah Lake do you find the best spots? I am hoping to go out there this week. I live 10 minutes from the Lindon marina and AF marina. AF looks like it has shallower shores to work.
I wish I could be more help on Utah Lake, but I don’t fish it very often. The last time I fished it it was much lower. The lake is so different now I couldn’t even begin to tell you where to start. But good luck.
I hope you respond with details. Good evening my friend. I follow your channel from an Arab country called Syria. We have the Euphrates River with turbid water and it is approximately 7 meters deep. I would like you to advise me on what to use and what type of flies suit these specifications. Of course, the river is my neighbor, my friend. We never fish with fly bait. But we have carp and I would love to try this method because in every video you make us want to fly fish. .. Your friend Abu Omran
What food do the carp in the Euphrates typically eat. Carp are very different in different areas. You should look at the forage available and use something that represents that. If you can let me know what they eat then I can make some suggestions on flies.
@@carponthefly8282 Thanks for the response my friend. He usually eats a lot of sweet yellow corn and wheat flour dough. And bread crumb dough. But the problem with sweet corn and dough is the long wait, which takes an hour or two for the taste to develop. My friend, the Euphrates River is deep. There are depths of 2 meters and there are areas with a depth of 7 meters and more.. I forgot to ask you, my friend, what flavor or scent do you put on your fly or fly bait?
Cannot get enough of your content. Caught my first carp on a fly on Thursday. I'll take them over any other fresh water species any day of the week.
Thanks and I couldn’t agree more.
I love these vids
Thanks
Wow!
Great content and commentary!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That's an amazing video. Previously, I didn't know that carp eat food so actively.^^👍

@@carponthefly8282 That's unfortunate. I was hoping with it being a recent video you were just out there. Thanks anyway.

Hey! Were you out on "The Mill Pond" a few days ago?
It was not. I have looked at several times driving by, but never fished it.
