What an amazing video! I love how you narrate and explain what you're doing and what you're trying to accomplish. I've been at this game for a minute and find myself completing some of your sentences LOL really good information you're putting out there
The first thing I heard you say was 12' leader, wow, I have been trying with a 6' leader like bass. I caught my first carp on a fly two weeks ago with a 9' leader. I will tie a new leader for my 6 wt. line. Thanks
Longer leader makes a big difference. Carp are super fly line shy. If you have never worked with real long leaders, it can be a challenge at first, but you will get the hang of it fairly quickly. Good luck!
It depends on the water flow. Most years in the summer you find them all the way to the dam. This year the water is too swift. I’m sure they are up there in pockets, but they are hard to find.
On the drop do you stop the fly or still slowly retrieving? I'm find carp, I'm dragging and dropping but no able to hook set Don't now if missing timing on the hook set or my line is not tie enough They spot on top of the fly but I'm not felling any strike so I dont set the hook. Any tips or any video on that? Thank you
This video will talk more about how to execute the drag and drop. We really want to release all pressure after the drop and watch for take indications from the target. How to Fly Fish for Carp - Presentation Techniques ruclips.net/video/Cr-Wi2g-TyU/видео.html
@@carponthefly8282 great, thank you very much I'm still trying to figure out set the hook set timing, because the place I'm been fishing it's really mudy so I never now if they suck the fly or not I will try again Thank you

Fantastic as usual, how upstream can you find carp in numbers on the Bear? All the way to the Cutler dam?
How *far upstream?
