- Jonah (Toby Wallace) is proud to be the loner at the teenage mental health clinic, taking pleasure in making the other patients uncomfortable. But when he is forced to share a room with the newly admitted Richard (Cody Fern), the boys become locked in a battle of wills.
Cody Fern played Duncan Shepherd in the final season of the Netflix series "House of Cards".

Not often I stumble upon a Short that truly gets my attention...that I enjoy...want more of...and watch twice! They should have come back with another episode where Jonah steals his way back into this house for crazies, and breaks Richard outta that place, and they strike out together to find a way of fighting off their demons and becoming free of them! That could make for a whole series!

didn't know this was gonna be a horror story when I clicked. The ending/non-ending left me needing more.
Everything is there if you look for meaning and symbolism.
I love the way this could be seen as a story with an element of the supernatural, or a story of mental illness. Or a mix of the two.
Great acting, great job overall.

Cody Fern is the most beautiful person I have ever seen. I never loved someone as much as him. I literally crying every time I see his face cuz I know I will never touch him or see him out said of the screen. I watched all his short movies and the series and it kills me really. May God keep him safe.

Sad. Jonah loses his chance to feel needed and necessary, and Richard loses his chance to feel safe and protected from his demons. An important friendship is gone, and neither can rescue it. Nothing gay about this - but definitely a tale of healing emotional intimacy discovered and then suddenly lost.
Or they could also be romantically interested in eachother and it would in no way take away from the story.

Usually the strings of a basketball hoop in mental health wards, asylums, and rehab are removed for the safety of the patients. Otherwise this was an amazing film.

Stumbled across this last night and had to come back to it again tonight. What a wonderful short. An incredible and engaging story paired with talented actors. I could see this panning out to inevitably becoming a full length feature or possibly a series, as this short is compacted with so much potential. I’m in awe with what we have, but would love for the characters and story to be further explored down the line. ❤️

Apart from having to look away when he cut I absolutely loved this
I had to skip those parts because that was something I struggled with and seeing stuff like that or even hearing about that brings back bad memories.

I just watched this at 4 am this morning and i felt the strong need to rewatch it at 3am the next day. not sure why I like it so much.

I just watched this for the first time and wow! I had to skip the $elf harming parts, but other than that it was great. This was done in 2012 and all these years later, Cody Fern doesn't look much older than he did in this short film. I find it amazing how some people don't seem to look their age, he looks younger than he is. I really am so proud of him for how far he has come!
This gives me memories of being in a psyche ward, and hearing voices everywhere, but antidepressants helped me.
Toby is an incredible actor.
Tbh not a lot of things scare me, especially horror movies, novels, and video games now a days.. But this actually made me sleep with the lights on for a night after watching it.. Good job! XD
Just when Richard is making a break through they pump him full of drugs. Little do they realize the damage they've caused discharging Jonah. Those demons are gonna have a field day terrorizing poor Richard as their barricade/Jonah is now out of the picture. It's amazing how triggered people get just seeing 2 men in bed together, even when nothing sexual is going on.
Great little film. Truly wasn't expecting the supernatural angle but I can relate to Richard's experiences.

I came here looking for Toby after seeing him in Baby Teeth. I am obsessed with that film. Then see Cody Fern. They are both so beautiful to me. Both wonderful young actors. Hope to see them in many more projects in the future. I adore them both.

Scary as f***. There's a lot of deep meaning in this short piece. One boy's demons become visible to the other. Intimacy keeps the demons at bay. Pretty heady stuff.
