@jf -- I have to believe that the dark hair kid (Kai) knew or had a hint that the depressed kid (Oliver) was gay or bi in order to be that bold. Not because it would be dangerous for a guy to ask another guy out (although that certainly could be the case), but because otherwise it could be a complete waste of time. Since 90-95% of males are not gay, asking out random guys would be pointless without having some idea who is gay. (at least 19 out of 20 would turn you down.) But once you knew or strongly suspected a guy was gay, why not just be bold and suggest a date? ☺

@Ron, gay films are sad because we are not accepted and only have pockets of tolerance here and there, but look at it this way, we are coming full circle to the days when it was considered "normal" to love both boys and girls. Ancient Rome and ancient Greece were bisexual societies for at least 800 years. Straight people were the odd ones. Today you can get publicly executed for being gay in Africa and the Middle East, but incrementally we are gaining rights and changing minds so that hopefully we reach a stage like the ancients, either to be fully tolerated or fully accepted. Moral: "Love makes all things new again." Thank you for this sweet film. Upon my 3rd viewing 😹I found myself thinking how badly Oliver needed someone to just hold him and let him know he's not alone. His mother was so deep in her own rejection that she forgot she needed to be there for her son. He, instead, was looking after her. We are left assuming these boys spent the night together yet, except for Oliver leading Kai by the hand to his bedroom, never once did they touch in a way that would lead him (or us) to believe his life was about to get better. I would like to have seen Kai lightly caress Oliver's face as he said, "OK, guess I'll see you later then." That's all that was needed. Nevertheless, my original comment and thanks still apply.

@@ethansears4458 , for me, it says a lot because just showing support while I was growing up was in question. The simple execution of just asking to go out is big for me. I'm 50. Grew up in 80's. I thought the actors did a really good job.
Wow, the absolute steel that guy must be made of to make the first move like that. So straightforward and honest. I couldn't even say the word gay as a teenager because I was so scared 😂
So simple and so intense! The sincerity of words are sometimes the ones that have the most meaning! I enjoyed reviewing this film clear objective and concise in history!
i like this film, although i do have to say, the initial "i like you" scene was rather too easy, a shade unrealistic -- however, it did "cut to the chase", so to speak, so i can see why they did it that way. i mean, that guy with the dark hair, must have the most amazing gaydar EVER....AND some major cojones. it just doesn't happen that way in real life. but other than that, i think the film played really well.
+Lee Victoria: i know they're not, but for him to just flat-out say "i have feelings for you" to what amounts to a virtual stranger (even though their moms talk and the boys are in the same classes they don't seem to know much about each other at all.), is just dangerous. unless he has the most amazingly accurate gaydar in history, he was being very foolish with his physical safety and/or reputation/life at school. the potential for it all to go wrong was hovering over him at the door. and the average high schooler (gay or straight) is usually rather more insecure about life, themselves and their crushes. i know everyone is unique, but that initial "i like you" scene at the door just came across unrealistic to me..
@@jennieh.5605 Exactly. Glad to see some people can read between the lines and don't have to have everything explained to them. That is why I like foreign films; they don't explain it all, they make you think.
The light-haired guy's acting is so much better than the dark-haired boy... the contrast is almost too huge to ignore lol. But I can tell the dark-haired boy is trying his best... just has room for improvement :)
I Love how it shows that the mother has the same way of dealing with what happened exactly how her son does, showing that they may be different but are still the same, we might have only seen her in like one clip but it says so much (or maybe I'm just looking way to deep into it)
Personally this is the movie that shocked me: for the way the story is told, the normal and not “mainstream” dialogues. Nice. Maybe a sleep with a friend is all we need
Beautiful display of unsaid emotions. I guess parents are like best friends we can share with them anything we want without any doubt. But it's annoying to see that main character mourn for the thing he don't have and simply ignore what he have.

Bravo! The atmosphere painted here is beyond the words... so happy to find this film on YT!
When I miss a few days of school someone is always sitting in my seat. Lucky ...but I feel kind of easily forgotten replaced Lol
Really cool story and imo beautiful shot and lit! Plus the boy with the dark hair is uber cute and I love how caring he is
Wish I had that confidence to ask another guy out...
There's no way I would just lay up like that without getting me some.
i like this film, although i do have to say, the initial "i like you" scene was rather too easy, a shade unrealistic -- however, it did "cut to the chase", so to speak, so i can see why they did it that way. i mean, that guy with the dark hair, must have the most amazing gaydar EVER....AND some major cojones. it just doesn't happen that way in real life. but other than that, i think the film played really well.
I do believe there is a back story to them. So maybe they discussed stuff with each other.
Maybe they're already out at school, and that's why dark haired guy wasn't worried.
I still am fascinated by what attracts one person to another, esp when they don't look like they fit from outside appearances.
That was sweet. Thank you!
The filmography was astounding. I love it
I keep wondering where I know Kyle (or the school guy) from but then it hits me ... The Lorax.
I Love how it shows that the mother has the same way of dealing with what happened exactly how her son does, showing that they may be different but are still the same, we might have only seen her in like one clip but it says so much (or maybe I'm just looking way to deep into it)
"Would there be a better time?" A good pickup line with no panic. Hurray for this generation!
Another really good short film is "STRAIGHT A" ... very touching, very beautiful. 👍
I like this guy and I told him and he said I was weird for liking him and boys ever since I have been really sad but this helped feel better for who I am. 😊
Damn ya after hearing this I'm def not telling my bff I like her, I'm a girl, she'll end me😭😭😭
What a beautiful little film with a sweet ending for a change. So sick of adolescent love stories that end in tragedy.
“ if I’ll go on a date with you, will u stop coming over?” Wtf:)) he likes u:))
And then “ ok” and go for a walk, rlly :))
*we
ino latino xddd
":))" 😭
the scene at the door, how he makes himself beautiful was good
I think I have a vice with these things, from 3 am to 8 am watching gay short films
Sometimes you just need to know that someone really, really cares.
