Fabulous idea. Hello from the UK. Thrilled to see a couple from my reports (1000 Pink-feet Goose and 1 Little Owl). Great to see other reports from around the world..
Very cool trip report! Im the birder from Chile 😁 I think this would be a great idea for Global Big Day and October Big Day, as at least here in Chile, birders go out way more on those events than in 1st of the year.
I had a lot of fun with this. I wish I had had more time that day to get some even better checklists, but I had fun anyway. Love your guys' channel! Greetings from Guatemala!
I think it's a great idea, and I participated from my house because it was too cold for me in Minnesota. You young whippersnappers are definitely more resistant to cold than I am.
Glad you were able to get some backyard species in MN! If you can handle the cold for just a little bit, getting out for those Boreal Owls in the state this year would be worth it!
This was awesome! I submitted a couple of checklists from NorCal--39 species between the backyard and a local pond, so pretty decent considering I didn't go on an entire mission. I'd actually missed the announcement about this prior but luckily saw it in the afternoon of the first and was able to share in time. Would love to participate in future birding days like this!
Greetings from Taiwan! So glad the checklist got included! I wish I had birded more that day but I just shared two others that have some island endemics!
Awesome trip report! Such a cool effort to see how far the reach of this channel is. Hope it’s even bigger next year! Excited to come away with the only American Dippers, Varied Thrush, Pelagic Cormorants, and Harlequin Ducks. Knowing there was so many other people in on this kept me running around all day :) Thanks for the challenge!
I'm the only one in the entire state of Idaho?! Actually, that's not that surprising. The PNW is less birded than other parts of the country if you ask me. Speaking of that, when I went out, I really wanted to see a Clark's Nutcracker because I thought it would be a species most people might not get, so I thought it would help increase the total number. Looks like my assumption was correct. So happy I got it.

So that's why Badgerland Birding appeared as a shared person on our checklist. Our leader must've submitted it to you guys.
That would indeed be why! What location were you birding in?

Those are both really cool. I know literally nothing about little owls and the sheer numbers of pink footed geese in that report are amazing
What a great idea this was, though I did forget to participate. Would certainly be up for another day like this 🙂
It seems like people enjoyed it so we will indeed do it again!

Yes! It was cool to get one from there! It seems like everyone liked it, so we will probably do it again for the Global Big Day in spring!

I think that little blue dot in St.Louis is me! 2:52How many checklists did you have from St.Louis? I submitted two.
We got two from St. Louis! Thanks for participating!

It would be neat to see you do something similar during the spring and fall migrations
We just might do that!

Let’s go!!!
Such a great idea this. Sure, it will really grow each year. And great fun doing it. All the best from the UK.
How about a spring watch day?
Thinking that the Global Big Day and our Global Twitch Day Holidays would be good to do this for
Excellent call.👍 @@BadgerlandBirdingShorts
loved doing it, a Big Day maybe?
