    Folkestone has completely changed now over the past 5 years. The seafront is looking awesome and the coastal park looks like a tropical holiday resort

      And with the new buildings going up this year, may be worth revisiting next year for a new drone fly-by

    Reminds me of our long summer holidays there in the 1960s. It looks as though all of what I remember at the foot of the Lees has been erased however...

      The toll-house is still there, and the Leas lift. The Rotunda, amusement park, swimming pool and boating lake, and the restaurant are all long gone. Most of that area is disappearing under some large apartment blocks, which no local will ever be able to afford to live in. Now the high speed rail link is running, house prices have gone completely silly. Londoners selling their city hovels and buying all the nice properties for comparative peanuts. Twas it ever thus?
