Yay! Is there anything in particular you'd want to see? I want to do an SVG Critique video to go over some issues that may arise with Cricut users, so if you'd like to submit the form is here: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdyRTdGuq4mOJoI3zHgEvooLnd5fWNpMQA2WLXdwx-iLFmTCQ/viewform Not sure when I'll do that video! But that was another idea I had ☺
@@JordynAlisonDesigns, I just followed the tutorial and was able to draw my drink of choice (Slurpee)! I'm thinking I should cut with my laser and make cute little earrings! Thanks again!
@@pauladrew1874 oh that's so awesome!!! if you make earrings I'd love to see them (jordynalisondesigns@gmail.com) I wish I had a laser but I do not have the time, money, or space right now!!
Hey Jordyn, thank you so much for uploading this. I’ve been researching how to make my own SVGs to start selling on Etsy and no one seems to really get into it like you have. This really helped me understand and I’ll definitely be rewatching when I come to doing it myself 😁 If you sell your svgs on Etsy, would you be able to do a video on how to make mock ups for your Etsy listings? Thanks again 😊
Hey I was wondering if you could show what the layering is supposed to look like when you open an SVG in design space?? I just got rejected by CAP and I’m not sure what’s wrong with my SVGs
If you've never used Design Space then I definitely recommend downloading it and uploading your SVGs there to get an idea for what they will look like uploaded - you should be able to see if something is off. If you have a compound path the pieces will stay together when they "make it" but if you just have a group those pieces will move around. If you didn't weld (or unite) pieces that need to be (like script fonts) then that's an issue. I'd also recommend reading their resources they provide when applying to see how they like their SVGs! After all that if you're still having troubles let me know!
@@JordynAlisonDesigns I have been testing my designs in design space, learned about compounding and uniting before submitting, and double checked with their resources. I saw the jumping of the layers before like you mentioned but I was able to fix that. I’m not quite sure what’s wrong…Maybe my black text should be in the same layer as the black outlines?? Every other color has been compounded into the same layer, max 6 colors.
@@stephaniesithu ohhh you shouldn't have any outlines. For Cricut you don't need any stroke/outlines for them to cut. So those should be removed. Is that what you meant by black outlines?
@@JordynAlisonDesigns no, some of my designs have this simplistic offset thick outline that happens to be black. They weren’t able to give me specific feedback because of the amount of applications they have
@@stephaniesithu hmmm, have you expanded the shape or is it double outlined? I'm trying to think of any other reasons but I think that's the last idea I have.
Please do more of these! I love creating svgs ❤

Thank you for a great tutorial! I’m used to designing SVGs in Silhouette Studio and am trying to learn Illustrator for both vinyl and laser designing.
You're welcome!! ❤ Some of my quick tip videos will be helpful for you too. ☺ But let me know if you have any questions!!
