    This thing worked like a charm. Located my EVAP leak in less than a minute once I got it hooked up. I was contemplating buying a $100 part in hopes it would fix my problem. After hooking this up and finding my leak I was glad to see it wasn’t the part I was going to buy but instead a $10 water separator. This thing saved me a ton of time and money.

It never crossed my mind to use plastic plumbing and run voltage through it. It just seems counter intuitive but you proved me wrong since it's very hard plastic and very little voltage running through it. I'm running to Lowes tomorrow and to my local vape shop.

    BREW2L How are you doing! I went to Lowe’s today to go find all the parts on your video receipt and I found all the parts. After I found all the parts I went back to the pvc plumbing section cause I realized I grabbed the wrong Flange and in the process of doing that a worker asks me if I need help with anything and I told him what I was going to do with all the parts from your receipt and he said that it would all melt in seconds because pvc can’t tolerate heat, I ended up putting all the parts back and not buying anything because I don’t have knowledge about this project like you do, if you can please make another video regarding this matter talking about what a wick or heat of any kind can do to pvc I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you! :)

    Thanks for the vid. Made myself one today out of ABS. One thing I did do differently was using some liquid tape on the bolts (outside of plastic) so if it slid for some reason it couldn't ground out the to body or engine. I know there is a fuse in there also to protect against that but I figured it wouldn't hurt and I already owned the liquid tape.

    Good video. I added a shutoff valve, 0.5 PSI propane regulator (CAMCO Olympian 59013 from Amazon) and ring end 12VDC power cables with battery clamps. Made power through-bolt seals from high-temp silicon rubber. Mine leaked smoke from around the cap, which I resolved by smearing the threads with plumbers putty and reinstalling.

    • @timtucker7762
      @timtucker7762 2 года назад

      So 0.5 PSI is the input pressure? Would it work with no input air, maybe just plugging the input? I wonder if it would build enough pressure on it's own?

    • @marshallartz3194
      @marshallartz3194 2 года назад

      @@timtucker7762 0.5 psi was recommended in several different build videos, etc. to not overpressure the car hoses. It seemed to work so I went with it vs. reinventing the wheel. No idea if it's optimal. Smoke does dribble out on it's own without pressure, but IMO pressurization is better to speed the process. I fed a 12V plug-in pool toy inflator nozzle into the pressure regulator. I've even seen designs where people pressurize by blowing into the hose.

  • @DumbCarGuy
    @DumbCarGuy 5 лет назад +5

    Thats a pretty good idea. When I made mine a long time ago. I just used a glass jar and an incense. Yes an incense. One of those little triangle thing that smokes. I also used the long incense on a stick too. The best part is that it smells good. Mine requires no battery or bicycle pump.

    thank you sooo much for the idea, I have been using air pressure and a soap test to find a leak, but this is so much better and very inexpensive, half the stuff I had around the house, very good video, can I ask you something ? what is with the music ??? On some videos you can't even hear what is being said

      @@javaidsadiq5775 I just used a double sided fitting that looks similar to the ones used for the tubing/air compressor on the actual machine. You should be able to find it in the same section in Lowe's if I remember. Basically any fitting that looks similar to the ones used on the machine will do. As long as it fits the tubing. Just look at the fittings in the air compressor section. You'll find one that will suit your needs.

    • @BREW2LFOXBODY
      @BREW2LFOXBODY  6 лет назад +3

      Honestly as long as you keep the wick wet and keep air blowing across the wick it should last for a very long time, worst case scenario you would just have to re-wrap the coil again. 👍
