Agreed. Actresses who would work brilliantly with him though: Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, Julianne Moore, Tilda Swinton. The fact that she has so much respect for Almodóvar proves that she is intelligent woman. And, no tea no shade, but to b quite frank, I don’t think he can afford a huge (expensive) star like Jolie. Rather. He tends to use common and or “ugly” women or shall I say REAL WOMEN VS Hollywood actresses.

To work with Almodóvar, actresses has to possess gigantic amounts of talent, charisma and full commitment to the parts. Not an easy task for Pedro to find those who fit the mold, so no question why he stucks with actresses for different reasons. I don't see Jolie in an Almodóvar motion picture.
