    Instead of using a grinder or locking pliers simply insert an allen wrench into the spinning spindle, in the lower portion of the link, and use a box wrench on the nut, instead of a socket. It is way easier, faster, safer...its the whole reason the end of the bolt is hollowed out....for an allen wrench.

    Watching this video made me realize that the sway bar link replacement was something I could tackle on my own. Went ahead and ordered them from 1A Auto for my new (to me) '06 Tundra DC. Had to grind off one of the nuts just like Sue did. Truck rides great now and this video gave me everything I needed to do the job myself. Well done!

      Why no impact wrench?

  • @edwardwonghaupepelutivrusk5189
    @edwardwonghaupepelutivrusk5189 3 года назад +1

    WHAT A PROJECT?!
    Getting the old one off was no joke. She just sliced the nut off. I, instead, tack welded the other side in place and used an impact wrench to free the nut. I also wire wheeled the threads before hand and soaked them in WD40. And it still broke the weld three times. Good luck everybody else.

    When tightening the bottom stud hold Allen wrench in locked position, and tighten nut with wrench otherwise it just keeps spinning the don’t show that on here.

      Anything like vice scrips or channel locks, will work just to get it going. Once you get so far it doesn't spin anymore. It's simple stuff, many ways to go about it.

    Theres a spot on the end of that bottom bolt for a torx or hex. The only reason i watched this was to see if you mention what size it is.

      I got the whole kit from eBay, same parts they're using very cheap. Ball joints was easy to change too. I just need to put my shocks on now, it all came for about $280 at the time.

    Hi, hoping for a reply, as I’m going to attempt this today. Is there a positive OR a negative to raising the vehicle (other than access). I’ve read on some forums to NOT raise the vehicle. Not sure why. Tension? 🤷🏼‍♂️ Any input would be appreciated.

    What is that part called that is right in the center of the frame at the start of the video? Has a boot about 8 inches long and e inch diameter and inside the boot is a ball joint. Nobody at parts shop knows what it is called or how to get it.

    in the first part, you used the flat rubber's, when it goes to the install, you used the tapered ones...

      She also used the big washer on top and bottom. With the big washer on top it really took a lot of tightening to get the bushing pressed out far enough.

    I have never fixed a car before, but it looks pretty easy to replace it. Only thing is that I don't have any tools or a car lift to replace my sway bar link. 😞

    your video shows many of your instructions backward, all over the place, and misleading. such as; the rubber bushings that you use bcuz you were not sure of by looking at the OE, so you decided & determined the non-nipple bushings is not the one, so you use the other flat bushings. but then when you installed the top i noticed you apparently switched over to the nipple bushings, and you failed to mention that on your video. it seems deceptive on your part. although, i still appreciate the video.
