Am I the only one who doesn't want it connected to the show? like I want it to be year 2 of HL and that dumbedore is a freshman/1st year. and that we go from there. From what they are talking about. it makes it seem like it might take place MANY years after HL maybe after dumbledore is already graduated. I just wanted to play as the MC from HL and have HL2 be it's own thing.
"They" haven't said anything other than the fact that it will feature elements from the upcoming show. So that could mean just about anything. Anything else you're hearing is purely fan speculation.
I can totally see Hogwarts Legacy 2 introducing the Deathly Hallows through a young Dumbledore's journey. It would be hilarious to have Dumbledore and Elphias Doge as those overzealous first-year students, much like Colin Creevey, always eager to learn and maybe a bit annoying to their peers. Dumbledore’s keen interest in magical anomalies and ancient magic could lead him naturally to the Hallows, especially since we’ll be on a quest to hunt them down. Given that our main characters are already aware of the Hallows due to Niamh Fitzgerald's trial, it would make perfect sense for them to engage in discussions about it with Sebastian. This could open up some fascinating dialogues and deepen the plot as they uncover the mysteries surrounding the Hallows together. Imagine if Sebastian, driven by grief over Anne's passing, embarks on a quest to hunt for the Hallows, leading him and his companions to eventually uncover all three. The entire narrative of Hogwarts Legacy 2 could serve as a precursor to the Hallows and, ultimately, the Horcruxes. This storyline could incorporate a moral system, where players face choices like allowing Sebastian to wield the Elder Wand or usurping him, which would lead to a darker ending. Historically, every owner of the wand meets a grim fate, often being killed by others seeking its power, resulting in our character's demise in that scenario. It's entirely plausible that the Elder Wand could be hidden within Hogwarts Legacy’s timeline, as we lack clarity on its whereabouts before it fell into Gregorovitch's hands. We know that two brothers, Arcus and Livius, fought fiercely for it, and the outcome of their duel remains a mystery. What if a quest unfolds around rumors of their pursuit of the wand, ultimately revealing that they perished in their duel. This could present an opportunity for either us or Sebastian to claim the Elder Wand, but embracing that power would come with dire consequences, leading to a foreboding ending. The Resurrection Stone could feature in another quest, where we discover it in the Chamber of Secrets, having been passed down through the Peverell lineage to Salazar Slytherin. In this same chamber, we might also uncover Salazar Slytherin's locket, presenting a pivotal choice: whether to give Ominis the stone, or let him take it from us. He could transform the stone into a ring along with the locket, allowing these powerful relics to be passed through the Gaunt family. Ultimately, this would set the stage for Tom Riddle to steal the from Morfin Gaunt many years later. Additionally, acquiring the Cloak of Invisibility could be a fun quest where we must steal it from a distant ancestor of Harry, maintaining the timeline of 1891 with Henry Potter, who was affectionately nicknamed Harry by his friends at Hogwarts. This could be a fun adventure where we literally have to infiltrate the Potter family for the semester, creating a unique twist in the storyline. Henry and his friends would eventually take the Cloak back in some way.
Love these kinds of videos! It does make sense. His full title being something like: Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore, Order of Merlin, First Class, Grand Sorcerer, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards. He’s also known for his cooperation of the Goblins. It would be definitely an interesting way to connect the two! And get more info on the Merlin trials. Even if they just hint at it. Love the detail in this video!
It would be cool if our character continues to protect the ancient magic as the keepers wanted us to. But then we meet a baby-faced Dumbledore, and we see that he has the same ability we do. As the game progresses, we need to rely on him for something, and we realise he has a very deep connection to the ancient magic. And we end up trusting him as professor Fig told us we should in time trust others with it. And by the end of the game we pass the torch on to Dumbledore when we graduate and go out into the world.
@XpectoGO i 100% agree with this video hopefully the creators of the game see this and the creators of the show. Heck they could take some cues from hogwarts mysterious game as well and show stuff off like the cursed vaults and the younger characters from the series like lily and james and snape and sirius black and r j lupin etc if the games get to there times at hogwarts and how there characters became how we know them today as well
Damn, that’s a good idea. I know some people don’t like the idea of HL lore mixing with characters from HP, but I think it would be really cool if we teach dumbledore about ancient magic, leading to Harry’s protection. It would make the player feel involved with Harry in such a small but significant way. I also believe on the first chapter of the tv show (if they decide to deviate a bit from the books) they could show dumbledore invoking the ancient magic at privet drive and have it look like the ancient magic from HL.
07:00 it makes total sense, because ancient magic is tied to pain, suffering and emotions in general. And Petunia was badly hurt, emotionally, after Lily's death. It's very likely that Dumbledore was able to use, not only ancient magic, but Petunia's pain and rightful anger against person who inflicted this suffering on her family, to cast a spell to repel Voldemort.
I would actually like to see the sequel jump to our 7th year of Hogwarts, so we would be able to interact with Dumbledore in his first year. Have the third HL with our character as an adult in the Wizarding world with more places like the Ministry and Diagon Alley opening up for us.
just my two cents but, i rewatched the series recently & now rereading the books, but i had a thought during the first movie! when getting to know who Voldemort is, it’s said that “he’s the most feared wizard in about 100 years” & i immediately thought .. what if Sebastian ends up being the most feared wizard, before Voldemort’s time ?
I'm just throwing this out there, but I wonder if his wand might be of Rowan wood. That wood is said to be particularly good at warding off dark magic. If I were to guess a core, it would be phoenix feather.
I like most of this idea but i also love the idea of being at hogwarts during the same time the marauders were that way voldy is already growing his power for the 1st wizading war and it would also enable us to lean either towards dumbledore or try to become a death eater to chose our side in the upcoming war
Thanks James! I believe it would be the same, but JKR may be involved in the storyline because Dumbledore is her character and her contract with WB may limit the creation of a new storyline involving her character creation. It would be cool if our MC would see the traces of ancient magic that surrounds Dumbledore and that’s the reason our MC would take him under our wing for training with ancient magic. The one line that comes back to me with all of the locations we traveled to for the tryptic canvass pieces, Isidora couldn’t have been the only one to know about this ancient magic at all of these locations. She may not and there is still the Dark Wizard that is always bound up in spider webs; if we free him, we can’t hit him with any spells. Is his family related to someone that was trusted by Isidora and trained to weld ancient magic to oppose us as a student of ancient magic?
Dumbledore shouldn't have the same type of ancient magic as the MC. 1) that's making him retroactively OP, 2) Lily Potter is described as using a type of ancient magic as well, 3) you're cheapening the overall value of the MC and the player's decisions by telling us everything we do will be done better by a main character...when he's 12. Funny since his age directly contradicts one of the "symptoms" of being an ancient magic user.
Agreed, Dumbledore shouldn't have the same capabilities as the MC. What our MC teaches Dumbledore would be just like what Rackham teaches the other Keepers who don't have the same abilities with Ancient Magic…even tho they can use it. 1 . Dumbledore was already considered OP based on canon. Which is why I quoted the books/Pottermore 2 . Lily used it but didn't “invoke” it like Dumbledore did on Harry. Which is why when the MC first uses Ancient Magic against the troll, it says “invoke Ancient Magic” 3 . Dumbledores achievements and capabilities as a youth doesn't undermine our MC. Especially when we don't know how powerful we'll become in future games. Again, just stating canon and how we the MC can fit into through Dumbledore. 4 . Not starting as a 5th year doesn't mean you can't use Ancient Magic. If so, explain the other 3 Keepers, Dumbledore, and others being able to “invoke” Ancient Magic. Rackham, Isadora, and our MC are the only known 5th years but not the only Ancient Magic users. 5 . I can give you references from the books and Pottermore if you need more help.
The TV series isn't new lore. The only changes are the stuff the movies left out from the books. If anything, the series will be more lore and book accurate
i hope we gonna finally be able too play as a dark lord/death eater/dark wizard this time and not a polite i-have-no-personality student, we need dark lore and real lore for both the young and the adult not just the young ones.
At this point, if WB and HBO want to give some freshness and uniqueness for HP newcomers and old fans, HBO HP show should be animation. I'm talking this several times over and over again, making another Live Action would be the laziest move.

tying the game into the tv show is a very bad idea, likely just thought up by a marketing team. the game stands on its own two legs. mark my words now- this game will not be well-received if it associates itself with a tv show that may or may not be good.

The trounle with making the game and series the same as it means you have no ending options, its just a linear story.
