Hunter Valley Steamfest 2023 Day 1, 29th Of April 2023

On Saturday the 29th of April 2023 the Maitland Hunter Valley Steamfest was on for the first time since 2019 having being cancelled due to COVID-19 in 2020/21/22. As it was the 35th Anniversary they didn't disappoint with The Picnic Train attending with Steam Locomotives 5917 & EX-VIC R766. The Patterson Railmotor Society also joined with CPH Railmotors 1, 3 & 7 and the NSW Rail Museum with Steam Locomotives 6029 & 3801 as well as Diesel Locomotives 4201 & 4501.
In this film you will see various shots of the trains at and around Maitland station arriving and departing on shuttle runs there's also plenty of shots of all the old steam machinery down in the Maitland rally grounds and we conclude the video with various shots at the Steamfest's After Dark night event held at the station.

This years Steamfest had less trains due to hive of activity of other events around that time.

They only had 2 Steamers because that what they usually want for a normal non-anniversary year
