Thanks for your knowledge! ROT’s are a good habit, You must know when to alter these steps. I don’t recommend putting gauges on every unit. Start with the initial size up/ walk through. Example ambient temp, interviewing the homeowner, when did the reason they called you started, was there anything done in or around the property? Examples other trades, modifications, Mother Nature storms, lightning strike etc! Is the unit sufficiently powered, is the Tstat working? Perhaps set to Fan only ( if the air handler turns on you have 24 v to the TSat or activated by the Tstat). Check the air flow, are all registers opened, condition of duct work and one of our biggest culprits! Check the filter that “ Was just changed last week🤣)! If you are going to apply your gauges then check your superheat or subcool whichever applies for the system you’re are diagnosing. Please learn how to disconnect your gauges prior to attaching them.
Hey Brian from uk had a H4 error code from Daikin sky air system ,which pointed to a low pressure switch issue . Spoke to technical and as instrusted isosalated electric and told disconnecting lps from pcb board to use multi meter and should have continuity?. This was not the case and then he tell s me to check eev and thermistors or even pcb . Did not check refrifridgerant pressures tbh as diverted to other maintenance tasks so isosalated system now, feel climbing a mountain now to explain my actions to clients now 😢
Good listen. Thanks
Thanks Brian , this gives me a much clearer understanding for troubleshooting. Now I need to practice.
That was great information and great explanation of the system and readings.
Great content as always. Thanks for sharing.

Could the thermostat be set up wrong in a heat pump system with a variable speed system. Water to water air to air and refrigerant to ground systems?
