The movie was awsome. The way everything was portrayed was excellent. This was a movie based on history. I think the first giy was very narrow minded. Even though jauhar was not right back in history it still happened. And all the director did was portray history. This days things have changed but you still have to be aware of your history and what happened long before. Khilji was suppose to be a very strong character not a weak one. Overall the movie was awsome. Shahid deepika and ranveer were great.

Subho Mukherjee if you remove any prior bias you should see that this guy makes sense. Im not totally with him but he has strong points. Khilji's character was so overpowering that it overshadowed Shahid and Deepika. Regardless of the acting, the script did not give Padmavati or even Maharawal Ratan Singh a lot of scope to leave an impact on people. It would have been better to name the movie Khilji and show how barbaric he was. They could still show padmavati as brave as she was. The plot does not do justice to the title.

This film is made just to show us how brave and courageous were Indian women in the past,who were not ready to lose their self respect even when they had no other go. Just saw the movie. First of all Ranveer Singh has nailed the character of Alaudin Khilji.Every frame with him has you hooked with intensity.But the rest of the movie falls flat on plot.A small story arc is stretched into almost 3 hours.There is not enough drama,it doesn’t engage you the way a magnum opus should.All in all a one time watch and the main reason is Ranveer Singh!❤️❤️

Just saw the movie. First of all Ranveer Singh has nailed the character of Alaudin Khilji.Every frame with him has you hooked with intensity.But the rest of the movie falls flat on plot.A small story arc is stretched into almost 3 hours.There is not enough drama,it doesn’t engage you the way a magnum opus should.All in all a one time watch and the main reason is Ranveer Singh!❤️❤️

Deliberately Ranveer was shown in a magnificent way, undoubtedly his character of Khilji became a hero in this Movie. Whereas, shahid kapoor was given weak dialogues and weak gestures which made his character fragile. Nowadays, in a whole world, directors and mainly their producers are becoming so called history scholars.
You know right that allauddin was way more powerful than rawal ratan Singh . Aisa nhi ki deliberately allauddin ko strong btaya h. He was strong. His army, number of soldiers, weapons everything was greater than the Rajput army. That's the whole reason why the rajput army lost.

1st guy is 100% correct. Kilji was supposed to be the villian but he is the Hero of the movie? It's a movie made of defeat of a small army of a small part of India by an invader. But the defeat has been glorified. This glorification is surely uncomfortable which is very much evident in the guy's review, he almost choked.
