That was the impression I had when I went to watch it, I went to another city only to see it so I was full of hope but I was a bit disappointed. But the decoration, dresses and tje whole esthetic things were amazing, Bhansali always gives justice to the visuals of his movies.

It doesn't deserve an oscar, the story was lacking in many places.
That was the impression I had when I went to watch it, I went to another city only to see it so I was full of hope but I was a bit disappointed.
But the decoration, dresses and tje whole esthetic things were amazing, Bhansali always gives justice to the visuals of his movies.

@@Ssookawai like others said, the guy said the BGM deserves an oscar. and also, things like suicide squad get oscars lol for costumes no less! what a joke. i think the story was very good, it didn't lack anything important. in fact, it was mesmerising and engaging the whole way, and it made us cry in the end, which is the most important thing in a movie. whatever it lacked storywise it made up in production, amazing acting from both main characters and side characters, in the musical score and in design. overall, a whole package of a movie. you're just being absurdly picky by saying that the movie's shortcomings makes it undeserving of an oscar.

Its been so long since I've watched this movie. Being a rajput i heard the story of maa padmavati ever since i was a child but whenever i listen to this music i cannot help but to cry. This music is extremely emotional,powerful and motivating. I am extremely extremely grateful to be a part of that caste that carried this legacy for years and I as a rajput hopes that our coming generations will always remember this sacrifice and will carry forward this golden legacy of maa padmavati
