A classic. I particularly loved, "Anything the sign says is only going to make me understand less."

Yeah I think that was my favorite line too. Thanks Dan✌🏻

I really enjoy your videos and perspective. I visited Japan twice this year (one on a school trip). I wish I would've ventured more into the countryside now after seeing your channel - maybe next time. I even decided to start my own RUclips channel because of the trip. :)
Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to following and seeing how life in Japan is going. I am living in the 'world is falling apart' area of Ohio in the US. I try to tune it out and plan my next adventure!

Thanks for watching. I am glad you had a chance to visit. I gotta ask you a question. Does it really feel like the world is falling apart? I am not being facetious on a daily basis does life feel uncertain or stressful. I am honestly curious how people in America feel. I love America and I keep getting the same message and sentiment from everyone that things are not well. Thanks again for watching ✌️

Things are definitely a but stressful and there does seem to be a bit of a political divide. With that said, I have a good job and great health care - which really helps me to have a bit of security. If you watch the news or spend too much time reading certain posts on social media, I think it can be overwhelming. On a daily basis I don't think most people sit around and talk about it. I have a few friends that go down the rabbit hole of the internet, but usually they are too busy rooting for their NFL teams. :)
I am a high school teacher and coach- and I find students are positive overall and focused on their future and not the doom and gloom. I tend to be a half glass empty person when it comes to that stuff, and I made a decision a few years ago to focus on my job (which I love), spending time with friends, and traveling as much as possible. Following other travelers online, making videos of my trip, and planning the next adventure has really been positive and hopeful. I am trending now a bit more glass half full. :)
But I really enjoy the introspection on your channel and how deeply you think about everything. Sometimes I block out the distractions so could really relate to how you described watching the news and then turning it off and being in the wild flower field. I think a lot of us in the States do the same thing a lot of the time to cope with the noise all around us.
And no problem, looking forward to upcoming vids.

The surreal feeling is cool. I used to love it too. Also, not understanding the language definitely helps.

I am 5 days into my 3 week visit. I cannot tell you just how nice it is to be able to walk around cities in Japan without fear and not seeing homeless addicts pooping in the street.

I get it - I’ve lived in the mountains (timber cutting country) for 11 years and feel like the UK has become basically irrelevant, weird, way out there but my vegetables are real, the deer trying to eating my vegetables are real, the old lady across the way who gives us vegetables is real. But, I’ve never seen a tea harvesting machine before - thanks for that. ❤

The deer are a pain. I mean/meant to build a cold frame this year just to keep them and the icey air out. Wish me luck. Carpentry isn't one of my talents

I am glad there is someone else that remembers the 90s too.. Are you able to get 9 hours of sleep each night there in all that quiet like we could in the 90s?

@@curiousnomadic OK I'll just give you one blog entry and keep it light: Before I visited Japan I thought it was kind of weird for a country to be so obsessed with a mountain. Then I was riding the shinkansen to Kyoto and without warning, caught a glimpse of Fuji just for a couple seconds out the window. I actually involuntarily jumped up in my seat and gasped. I guess now I get it.
