Fantastic show…Marc, Gooch, Barry, Chris and Jason…great group of guys….and excellent musicians all around. Marc co-played with Lucinda Williams this night, who went on after Marc and the Sinners. Thanks for the post…wonderful memory…wish there were more video captured that night….Cheers to all
my favorite guitarist.. ever since seeing Marc play with the Crowes I knew he could fly on his own just fine!! Marc your vocals are cool too, just love the tone and feel of your playing!!
I understand and agree. Fact is: Marc Ford, like many other top level instrument players are not famous enough to pretend top audience every night. Some times (and I know for experience) it's fine to make some money by playing in front of what we would define "not exactly the top audience". In no way this wants to diminish the value of the artist (which I admire and would like to be as good), just a fact. Playing in bands has some weird sides, sometimes. Great, great, great performer.
Look at Marc Ford and even Chris Robinson. Those guys played concerts and festivals where it was upward to 50,000 people or more. Then they would come to a town like Richmond Va and play in front of 1,500 people. With Chris Robinson Band tours I bet he plays in front of 500 or so people on some nights. They do it now cuz they love to play, I guess.
I agree. Some times artists decide their way is different than the current one. It happened to many. Mick Taylor (great guitar player, earlier with the Rolling Stones), many many others. By the way, mark reminds me a lot of the very best Mick Taylor.
Marc could play a Mexican Strat through an Indonesian Fender Frontman and you know who he would sound like? Marc Flippn Ford!! It aint the gear, its the player. Tore me up when he left the Crowes...but you gotta respect that it was his decision and thats what he felt he had to do to stay alive....Theres more to life than playing to 10,000 people every night..I got nuttin but love for the man! Crowes did just fine pickin up Luther and the last 2 tours kicked ass....
Thanx! Live version is fucking great, personally I didnt care for the sound he got for the Its about time album. couldve been a littel more bare bones ya know.
Wow. Very cool. Thanks for posting this. This looks like a mid-week party for a bunch of yuppie types - hard to watch them all but ignore Marc on one of his most well written songs. His playing always moves me.
@IvanLendl87 Very unfortunate that Marc is gone from the Crowes, but he is doing what he wants to do - producing etc. and the Crowes have done ok with Luther...a shame but shit happens...
What the hell is happening here? Surreal man. Is he playing a wedding reception or some kind of yacht club benefit? People carrying around what looks like cake and talking? Marc Ford people. MARC FORD. This is just uncomfortable.
marc ford looks very heavy in this video.it says 2003.i see videos of him in russia in 2007,2009,and he looks very gaunt and skinny.is this before or after he dropped into drugs?,,,marc ford is one of my favorite guitarists and he intrigues me very much...very under recognized as a player.
This is the new world for performers. Playing to people eating cheese and crackers while sipping on wine. The other end of the spectrum is people talking and texting on their cell phones while they ignore you. Look at Bonamassa busking on the New York subway and he didn't make a dollar.
Marc is TOTALLY a hero...I'd say that this is one of the dumbest things that u've EVER said, but then again, the fact that u did makes me think otherwise...
How disheartening must it be for musicians of this caliber to play music to people who really don't have an interest at what looks like a country fair. Shame on those who listen to garbage x factor music...

marc ford is one of my favorite guitarists. his stuff after the crowes is all real fantastic stuff.
Bill i feel the same way. just discovered him about a year ago. he's as good as the classic stuff i grew up on.
Agree …
Love how Marc takes his time and plays soulfully through till the end. The whole band is great.
my favorite guitarist.. ever since seeing Marc play with the Crowes I knew he could fly on his own just fine!! Marc your vocals are cool too, just love the tone and feel of your playing!!
superb guitar tone, nice groove, band is tight, overall sound mix is flawless, these guys are pros pros
I promoted a show with Marc in Erie, PA when he had "Blue Floyd"...he was amazing, and awesome to work with....
Adam Berkowitz I got to see that band a few times. Great outfit.
He's my favourite!
What a cool jam
Love the Neil sound on the end it.
this sounds like Neil Young..great influence
Very Neal Young!
I understand and agree.

Some Les Paul heat in the face of apathy. What a version!
Marc's all heart

Any other video from this performance?
sweet
Great tone...looks like Cream-era Clapton...
4.33 - 4.36 Classic Ford
true dat
Is that Berry Duane Oakley on bass here? Looks like a younger version!!
I think the drummer's shirt says it all.
@IvanLendl87 No one was a moron. Marc left because he wanted to keep his sobriety.
Thanx! Live version is fucking great, personally I didnt care for the sound he got for the Its about time album. couldve been a littel more bare bones ya know.
whats the title of this song??
what kinda twin is that?? and is he getting natural overdrive or is he using a pedal? thanks in advance.
@crowezar No kidding!
Damn good guitarist, love his style to bad he's no longer in the Crowes but this is rad too.
Wow. Very cool. Thanks for posting this.

Is this older than I think it is? Anybody know the date?
Summer 2003, I believe. June, I think.
i know marc uses a twin reverb but that blackface over there apears to be a super reverb. And yes he uses a wide variety of pedals.
Disgraceful Ladies. can i take that for a band name :) sounds cool
the audience seem more interested in theyre lunch
Pretty sure it's a winery... don't know the occasion... they used to have music..
What the hell is happening here? Surreal man. Is he playing a wedding reception or some kind of yacht club benefit? People carrying around what looks like cake and talking? Marc Ford people. MARC FORD. This is just uncomfortable.
I'm so pissed I didn't hear about this

Very "gilmourish"...
THE SIINERS WERE A GREAT BAND! TOO BAD IT IS NO LONGER
