Only the last 2 positions can boost, and everyone must try to use EMPs on the racers ahead of them to try to scramble their controls and make them crash!

Trailmakers is about building very awesome vehicles and machines, but you don’t need an engineering degree to get started. The intuitive builder will get you going in no time. Everything you build is made from physical building blocks. Each block has unique features like shape, weight and functionality. They can be broken off, refitted and used to build something new. Individually the blocks are fairly simple, but combined the possibilities are endless.
Expedition Mode is the challenging campaign mode of Trailmakers. You are competing in an off-world rally expedition with only a few building blocks to get you started. You must build, tinker with and rebuild your machine to progress. Journey through a big world, overcome deep gorges, angry wildlife and dangerous weather to progress and find new parts that will juice up your machine. The world in Expedition Mode will test your survival skills and ingenuity.
Sandbox Mode is where you want to head for an unrestricted, sandbox, vehicle-building experience. Here you can build anything you can dream of, and play around with it in the world of Trailmakers. It is a great place to test out crazy machines, and experiment with the physics engine. With tons of different blocks, hinges, thrusters and interactive vehicle parts - the skybox is the limit.
Trailmakers is even more fun if you play it with other people. Build cool vehicles and compete in mini-game modes with your friends or other Trailmakers online. Build a helicopter, send it to your friend, and shoot them out of the sky. Put two seats on a tank, and let your friend control the turret. As we get further in Early Access development Expedition Mode will also be adapted to multiplayer.

I was sad there was only one race, this was really dramatic and well balanced, well done guys!
Fun idea could be a stock frame with set engines wheel placement, etc. Then each player takes the stock frame to build only form parts to make their vehicle to race or blow eachother up with. Could be interesting.

I think hovercraft racing with EMPs could be interesting, maybe over some water but mainly land.
I was thinking something similar, hovercraft racing with EMP, but as a very high speed (200-300mph) race on the sky donut racecourse. Mostly because losing control at that kinda speed would be catastrophic.

Also if you crash in a tight place you're very screwed. Maybe a helicopter emp race would work better.

This was the most excited that I've ever been watching a race. I'm really hoping to see more emp-racing with similar balancing
here's a mad EMP race idea: hovercraft subs, if you fall behind/sink, you can use the sub parts to get you back on the surface and hover the rest of the way or until you fall again, imagine an EMP from under you, wouldn't that be fun?
That race was phenomenal, loved every second of it, would love to see a re-visite to the hovercraft/pod race :)
This needs to be an official Trailmakers game mode, so much fun!
A monowheel race would be funny because the monowheels cant drive without a massive balancing system(2 gyros these days) and the emps could have a chance to completely disable the balancing system.
i absolutely love the no limits (other than obvious weapon exceptions) battles, please do more of those! they give so much creative freedom
the speed llimitation is so good! i think it makes more interesting races than power core limit :)
Day 8 of:
I've got 3 ideas for you,
1: Player 1 builds a plane with wheels on the tips of the wings. Player 2 makes a runway with two lanes and a gap in between. Then land the plane on that runway.
2: Build a plane which can transform into a submarine upon contact with the water (like, wings turn in and stuff).
3: Test yours and your friends building skills by turning animals into a vehicles (maybe multiple animals per person but that might be too time consuming). Points for form and points for function
One of the most fun videos yet
Boats, but you have to use the inflatable blocks only for buoyancy so the EMP can deflate them possibly and make you sink. Could do the same with subs and they make you float to the surface. Basically make anything that you NEED to use a "movable" part to have the vehicle operate that the EMP could mess with.
Space-ship-racing with EMP should be the final one of these as it would get insane, potentially even without inertia-blocks.

Plane racing on one of those ring courses in race Island (or somewhere bigger but still close to obstacles) with a couple EMP's could be pretty entertaining.
Ideas for more EMP races, mix and match to your liking:
- vehicles use 2 hover pads and 2 wheels
- cars must carry upward max power thrusters on the back bumper (alternative: max power helicopter servo)
- thrust only allowed from two forward thrusters, that must be horizontally separated by at least 6 units
- cars carry a rear facing rocket with auto aim, but that cannot be fired by the driver (but what happens if an EMP hits it....)
- all wheels must have steering hinges
- all vehicles must use steering-hinge-based suspension instead of normal suspension
Do this same EMP style race, same ruleset and all, but with hoverpads only, i think it would be really fun to see the hoverpads get messed with by the EMP’s!
The "Do not touch me!" race.
Three sensors on land-based vehicles, one on each of the 4 directions. You have one side SAFE to approach other drivers and try to trigger these sensors. On triggering, it just detonates explosives with a 10 second timer. Infinite repairs until you're payload has detonated.
Plot point; sensors are added either AFTER showing off, or you don't show off your builds. Secret sensor locations!
Do EMPs trigger detatchable blocks? If so, it could be fun to race with different parts of your vehicle randomly falling off.

Maybe EMP glider races so you all start at a certain altitude and try to be the last one to land. The EMP would make you lose control and therefore height.
I think I was subscribed to this channel for at least a year before I realised that the others in the multiplayer videos had channels. I think I first though about it when I started getting videos in my feed of Trailmakers multiplayer things that gave me a slight deja vu despite the video being just published. And then I realised I was being given the same multiplayer session from different viewpoints. And then I subscribed to most of the other channels too. I must admit I rarely bother to watch the same session from all viewpoints, particularly the destruction derby and other kinds of challenges where everyone is in the same area most of the time so the multiple POV's don't contribute much, I'll just watch one of them; either the first one to get published and appear in my feed; but I enjoy watching the building part of the video from multiple channels. I'm not particularly interested in competition neither competing myself or watching others compete, so I often just watch the building segment and skip part or most of the competition. (That's also how I follow motorsport IRL, the only sport that somewhat interests me; I'm much more interested in the engineering than the racing itself; so I watch much more videos _about_ motorsport than actual motorsport competitions.)
But for this one I think I'll watch all the videos all the way through! Too much chaos to see everything in just one viewpoint.

Definately one of the best races that i have seen in ages. How about having a rearward facing gun that only works by being hit by an EMP?
This race was awesome, you should do this again, either with different people or just a rematch. Also, kudos to whoever chose the music to go over this video, it works perfectly.
Trailmakers should use this idea and make a whole game mode around, it looks so fun and balanced. We need EMP tracks.

EMP Hovercrafts sound fun. The EMPs are gonna deactivate some of the hoverpads for extra chaos

This was a really fun race to watch
Motorcyles with EMP, then jumping cars with EMP, with the jumping usually on a cooldown unless hit by the EMP.
Would the best defense against EMT to have a bunch of random unused logic on the vehicle so they get randomly trigger instead of the important controls
... That might might work. O_o

i feel like once a video is over, the really cool vehicles made get thrown away, and i really like some of your old builds.
you reuse your favorite or best builds either from MM or one of videos.
you could pit an all purpose transformer against a rapid fire rocket plane.
this can be redone with different themes like recycled planes, recycled cars, recycled battle bots.
not restricted to trailmakers, but i do see SM gearing towards that nowadays. makes sense tbh. more ongoing updates and versatility
I think a boat race with weapons on the high seas map would be cool and different. Banger videos btw.

Here's a suggestion: An EMP race with boats/submarines
EMP race suggestion: 2 v 2 EMP tank battle race. You use tanks with 1 person controlling driving the tank and the other the turret (full 360 degree rotation and not just front). Can do it where you swap roles for a 2nd race and if need be there will be a 3rd race if there's a tie in the 2nd round (who gets what is either up to you to decide or you flip a coin with one for those coin apps to determine driver/turret controller for the last round if both players want the same role). To spice things up add in some TNT into the tank as well for rng emp based explosions.
A few video ideas:
- Plane battles in atmosphere on the space bound planets
- Walker mech battle
- Insect themed vehicles?

Emp planes and hover crafts would be instant death, boat could be interesting but most likely a bit boring, land vehicles would probably be the best for this kind of thing but I'd really like to see you guys race with emp subs since it's been so long since you did a sub video
race idea: a plane race with emp luanchers but the twist (optional) is if you fall out of the sky you lose and have to be a hostile plane that tries to take out the other racers, racers can only have 1 emp but the enemy can have 2 making it more harder if someone gets taken out kinda like every time someone dies they become one of the enemie

Build idea for similar race... Several engines that aren't hooked up to hope they get activated by EMP to give a boost.
Do a EMP race where you can't use your wheels to steer. Instead, you use gyros. This should cause some crazy spinouts if you are hit!
Bigger vehicles can spread out the parts that would mess you up badly when emp hits meanwhile smaller vehicles are harder to hit but emp blast radius takes out everything when it hits
Can you make a multiplayer plane with missiles but every missile is a little plane? I think it would be a fun little challenge if you had two teams that could fight.
EMP air race? perhaps helicopter engings only? and have aerodynamic parts on hinges for collective pitch that will get disrupted from the EMP!

EMP only demolition derby: ground vehicles only and dynamite attached to the seat. Up to 2 EMPs. Only one shield is allowed

Emp sumo derby where you have to stay in one area and either destroy or push each other out of the ring. But the emps could also cause you to drive out of the ring making you loose.

EMP race but there is pistons under every cars, so if you get hit you will jump
Empty boats races with buoyancy blocks having controls so that they can sink and inflate when struck with only underwater engines for turning. Similar rules of only going x amount of mph but I can be as big or small as you want to make it.
can we get an experiment to show us how exactly the EMP works?id like to know if they work off of a random generator on which controls get effected. for example, if you put 20 extra controls (like lights or something) on one creation, will the EMP effect a certain percentage of controls or a specific number of them? if just a specific number or just the ones hit directly by the EMP then you could give a bunch a red herring for the EMP to take control of letting you win races easier.
Maybe try doing low gravity racing with boosters (No controls) and EMP launchers. Boosters should be pointed in the direction where the vehicle launches upwards.
Same Idea, but with hovercrafts. Hoverpads willa probably randomly turn on and off. Max limit to 4 od them (to be morze unstable when hits) 😊
