My first thoughts after Scrapman put the cockpit in front of the engine. "it's not really a TRUE pod racer if any thrust comes from the cockpit. All of the thrust is supposed to come from the engines that the cockpit is attached to via a rope."
same here, like @urch5616 say it's more of a futuristic chariot race, with the front pod being the horses and cockpit being drag along like the chariot.
people still fail to get the point of podracers ... the thrust and steering has to come solely from the engine pods while the cockpit is a passive thing to be towed like a chariot.

Calling the engines pods is annoying sure, but adding the engine to the actual pod was by design as a backup to allow last place to catch up and not just have a one pod race with no action taking place, that would be boring.
@@akaraven66-- Why does the last-place boost need to be in the cockpit pod? Puting all the thrust in the engine pods is purely a design limitation, it can't affect how the rules work.
@@TlalocTemporal Nothing is really stopping them, they never stipulated exact rules on the boost, but how people are pointing out the boost engine MUST be in the engines is wrong. The engine dragging the pod on all designs is correct in that it is the primary boost for the majority of the race for at least two of them. Scrapman putting the boost in the pod is fine, especially since it's a single boost, adding a single boost to one of the two pods would throw off balance if he ever got to use it.
2v2 combat. One towing the other with the power coupling. The one being towed can not have any propulsion, and the one towing can not have any weapons. Win by destroying the opposing team or cutting the connection between them. This could work with cars, planes and boats.
Also, podracers only have power couplers in between the pods. The connection between the pods and the cockpit is a tube. The only reason I remembered that is because of the scene where Anakin had to pull the tube back onto his cockpit
I think the wobbling when Scrapman was turning was because the air break. When he activated it with the turning, it gave him a little bit of up-force, because the one air brake which was pointing up had more drag then the one pointing down, so it pulled the pods into the air.
With the left over power cores, you could have made a double connections between the pods and then have one connection pulsing left and the other connection pulsing right, basically showing a distributing circle.
i had a fun idea, floppy guns. some kinda fight, tanks or planes or whatever, but all weapons need to be attached with power couplings so they flop around.
Your creation isn't a pod racer. All power and turning should be reserved for only the coupled engines. You shouldn't be allowed to have any thrust or vectoring on the main pod. Also, FYI, the "pod" is the seat and controls. The turbine engines are not pods.
Telekinesis Jousting! Battlebots, but the only weapon is a static object, connected to the cab by power couplings. The seat has to be exposed and destructible. The aim? Joust with your levitating weapons, or just flail them around, trying to knock each other's seats off.
Suggestions: Prof's pods engines being on top are definitely the problem - you can see them pushing the pod nose down when engaged. Use hover pads with multiple distances/strengths to damp the bouncing; this is similar to the way robotic arms are damped using both hydraulics and pneumatics.
I can only imagine the futuristic builds that are going to be made like bullets being fed into a machine gun or power wires hanging down from walker/mechs can't wait for the update and cool build btw maybe one of my favorites yet keep up the good work scrap hope your feeling better from the sickness you had

An idea for the power couplers could be. Attach one power coupler to the side of your opponent's vehicle, keep it on the lowest strength setting, and see how it handles. I know it may be a bit weird and you'll need 4 people, but it could be quite fun.
Honestly, one fix that probably would have helped for Prof's pod racer, would be to just flip the wedges on the front up-side down. Since Scrapman has proven that block shaping dose cause directional resistance. So the fact that he had high back thrust, and down force on the nose was causing his pods to roll forwards.
My thought is: is it really pod racing if it flies/works well without the pods?.. I thought the point of pod racers was that the thrust was in the pods and the seat just hovers behind it.

hey, wanna know something, technicaly what you build isn't a podrace, a podrace has 2+ engines in the pod in the front and a cockpit in the back, conected by two flexible fuel pipes, the power conection is onli between the two engine pods, when is the last time you saw the phantom menace? I have an idea. There are 3 round, first is cars, second is boats, third is palnes. You have to build your creation in the shortest time possible, the firts to finish calls for the end of the construction time. All the participants have to run with their veicle as it is in that moment.
video idea:- do like a boat battle but each vehicle has to have a trailer attached to it with no controls and the only weapon goes on that trailer. make sure the traielr is attached with power coupler. u can also do it with trains. trailer should be on a hover pad if battle is on ground and if trailer is on boat use pontoons

when you have the power cupplers on the engine pods, you need to have a hinge connected to the cuppler and pod and have it on no strength so the pods dont angle so far and its more flexible
tag team racing, where its similar to the pods. a teammate controls and drives only 1 pod each but they're connected in the middle like normal (maybe have the 3rd big one without controls for stability) because it'll be hilarious to see y'all trying to take turns and drive fast when you only control one side of the thrusters
Suggestion with options: Option 1 : team pod racers where 1 person builds the pod and the other builds the cockpit, or competitive where each person builds a separate pod and cockpit and then randomly selects the individual parts

You can repair while you're on a bridge, but must move to a different bridge each time. If, at any point, a vehicle loses either its drive/thrust, its steering, or its weapons, it is out.
I know you've done it a few times already but I honestly love building and seeing people build beyblades in these games. You should build some more beyblades at some point now that we have the space stuff.
Scrapmans' pods flopping about uncontrollably is them giving way to the push of the cab they are supposed to pull in order to to pull themselves straight. Everybody knows you can not push rope, only pull.
You guys should do it again, but this time, everyone uses the same basic cockpit, and all you have to do is make the turbines for thrust. Because the cockpit doesn't provide any thrust. Although I feel like airbrakes for turning and slowing down on the cockpit are fine if it's not too outgoing.
Podracing is essentially Star War's take on chariot racing. It kind of doesn't make sense to have a self-propelled chariot to push the horses faster than they can feasibly go. However, this is Trailmakers and the rules were fairly lax on what constituted a podracer. I'm more wondering when gyro stabilize beyblade battles are going to be a thing.
For a bit of problems in this race, I'm reminded of go-kart racing IRL - you're strapped in too tightly to look behind. Just look forward, don't get distracted by other racers behind you.

trebuchet build competitions? the power couplers kinda work like rope from what iv noticed... what about vehicles without rigid surfaces? so the only things youre allowed to make are using hinges and the connectors? may as well crank up the jank while youre at something like that...
Do a race where you switch whose pods you are using after each lap. And just to be clear I am talking about the forward engine pods not the whole racer. You will of course have to set a power core limit for pods and a separate one for the chariot.
Backwards racing. Camera is locked to the seat facing direction. If your last, your camera gets to face forward via a swivel. Guns swivel with the camera. Meaning, you majority of the time shoot behind you. . . which also is the front of your car. Basically, I just want a type of race where the people ahead have to spin on a dime (probably hover+gyro) to do a 180 to face the opponents as they drive backwards and shoot at the people beind them
New challenge idea: power vehicles. Everyone must build a vehicle to fight the others with. The twist? You must use ONLY pieces that use powercores. No normal blocks besides the cockpit and logic (wheels if you guys make a land vehicle)
Petition for scrapman to build a proper podracer, with no thrust in the cockpit. All control should come from the pods.

Only change I'd make is that they go until seats break, and if they get separated, weapons cab can't move, and engine cab is melee only.

Every round the stiffness decreases so the guns get progressively floppier.

Incognito had too much thrust above the centre of mass of the individual pods, so when he used the thrust they immediately pointed to the ground.

An upside-down pod racer has interesting physics... and ScrapMan's pod racer seems more prone to capsizing than most.

you should try this again but use gimbal jets and distance sensors, it lets you have more of a cushion under the pods.
