Low key - but 93 94 Topps Finest was an under-rated set, still remember the first time I laid eyes on one of those refractors! Keep up the good content!
@@90sbballcards Love your channel dude. I used to collect a little bit in the 90s, but really got back into it about a year ago. Now I have 5 albums worth of inserts and am having so much fun getting more sets.
Nice top ten jake...i couldnt even do one myself...too hard to put what and where in a top 10....i also like the BD 98-99 when it came out and 97-98 spx finite...too much to mention...im glad we were able to enjoy it then cause now we almost have to mortgage the house to get some 90's wax 🤣🤣🤣...good stuff jake 👍👍
Great video, learned about a few sets i didnt know much about, surprised no Topps Finest made the list, they are still one of my favorites and think they are a underrated series, only flaw i believe they have is the discoloring on the player, backgrounds and everything else stayed the same but for some reason the players would turn yellowish or greenish over time.
I always liked 1993 Fleer. I know it’s not the best looking, not valuable or a popular set, but I remember opening those packs growing up. I remember they always had a unique odor to them too when opening the packs.
Hah, knew your number 1 from previous videos! :) My top 5 (hard to order) would be 1999-00 Upper Deck Ovation, UD3 hardwood prospects (if that counts as base), Flair Showcase 1998-99 Row 2 (also not strictly base, for Row 3 I'd go with 1997-98 like you), Skybox Premium 1997-98, and E-X-2000.
Should of showed the class 3 topps gold label!! Got that nice color to it almost like a orange/gold love those parallels!! Love any E-x set simply above the rest!! The holo grfx was what gave the idea for revolution with the parallels fractal and cosmic!! We basically have the same taste in cards love this vid!!
Here is my Top Ten ;-) 10. 92-93 Fleer Ultra 9. 91-92 Skybox 8. 97-98 EX2001 7. 96-97 EX2000 6. 93-94 Upper Deck SE (very elegant, classy) 5. 97-98 Metal Universe 4. 97-98 Flair (I agree with you, 96-97 Flair is so similar, but I think the 97-98 Row 0 are the tiebreaker) 3. 1996 SPx (classic for sue) 2. 94-95 Skybox E-Motion (not significant, but really underrated, thick as flair, beautiful pics) 1. 93-94 Topps Finest (when that first came out, everyone was amazed) And Bottom 5 5. 98-99 Upper Deck Ovation 4. 90-91 Hoops 3. 95-96 Metal Universe 2. 93-94 Upper Deck 3D 1. 94-95 Topps Embossed
Hey Jake, did u own or seen any 97 stadium club Triumvirate insert? These cards are so different to anything else. The MJ graded sells for 1k and there are 2 other parallels.
I was going through some old cards recently and found an Alonzo Mourning Gold (4-stars)! Any idea what it's worth ungraded in NTMT-MT condition? I tried asking at a big card show recently and nobody seemed to know.
Hey bud. It's been a while. I miss watching your videos. I have been MIA for a while. My dad just passed away a week ago and cant really afford to collect atm :( Hope you are doing well.
No love for early-1990's set? Like the 1990 NBA Hoops or 1990 SkyBox set? 🤣 Late-90's "high-end" sets were the best. I had the almost-completed set of 1997-98 Flair Showcase. I should rebuilt the set again.
Know what I'm saying is the numbers in the letters of their jerseys are also flipped. Since it's acetate the front would look frontwards and the back should look backwards but it doesn't.
What are your fave sets from the 90s?
@@robbiemills9987 fully agree!
96-97 UD collector’s choice - simple and fun
And 90-91 Skybox is hella funky!
1993-94 Fleer Ultra has a very clean, nostalgic look
1997-98' Metal Universe #1!!!
Loved the video!
You’re not alone in that
Low key - but 93 94 Topps Finest was an under-rated set, still remember the first time I laid eyes on one of those refractors! Keep up the good content!
It’s a revolutionary set
Good stuff! Looking forward to the article
I hope you love it
Metal Universe is my number one. Every base card looks like an insert.
They grew on me

Yes. I had to make many difficult cuts to make the list
Fav sets: Nuts & Bolts, Metal, The SPX and Ex that you showed. Anything Die Cut.
Can’t go wrong with any of those picks!
Ex 2000 are my favorite
A great choice!
those ex sets definitely floored me...lately i've been gravitating towards skybox premium
Can’t go wrong with Ex
Wow really loved the EX acetates
They are great!
Wouldn’t have guessed spx 97. I personally love the 93-94 upper deck special edition base set, electric gold and electric courts.
super classy indeed! often forgotten
That was a great set back in the day
Totally enjoyed this video. Thank you
🙏🏼
Amazing video! Love the nostalgia factor while watching it and your expert analysis! Keep up the fantastic content!
Oh thank you 🙏🏼

They JUST missed the cut
The late 90s as a collector I was able to get me a bunch of Keith Van Horn, smh
He was very collectible early on
Great list. Was a huge fan of hologrfx growing up
Thanks. Yeah those really pop!
I always liked 1993 Fleer. I know it’s not the best looking, not valuable or a popular set, but I remember opening those packs growing up. I remember they always had a unique odor to them too when opening the packs.
Nostalgia for the win!

9. 91-92 Skybox

7. 96-97 EX2000

4. 97-98 Flair (I agree with you, 96-97 Flair is so similar, but I think the 97-98 Row 0 are the tiebreaker)
3. 1996 SPx (classic for sue)
2. 94-95 Skybox E-Motion (not significant, but really underrated, thick as flair, beautiful pics)
1. 93-94 Topps Finest (when that first came out, everyone was amazed)

4. 90-91 Hoops
3. 95-96 Metal Universe
2. 93-94 Upper Deck 3D
1. 94-95 Topps Embossed
Oh. Very nice!
some beautiful sets! However, for me, 1991-92 Skybox is still #1.
I do love that set.
Hey Jake, did u own or seen any 97 stadium club Triumvirate insert? These cards are so different to anything else. The MJ graded sells for 1k and there are 2 other parallels.
For sure. I love those
I think Metal Universe would have been a controversial pick maybe if you ended it at number one....
Perhaps
I was going through some old cards recently and found an Alonzo Mourning Gold (4-stars)! Any idea what it's worth ungraded in NTMT-MT condition? I tried asking at a big card show recently and nobody seemed to know.
Oh nice. Which year? Feel free to send me a picture

Welcome back. I’m so sorry to hear that! Hopefully I can help u enjoy cards during this hard time
I remember you mentioning the SPx 1997 was one of your favs... I still don't get it. I would have expectd 93-94 Topps Finest...
Yup. Always and forever. What’s not to love?
1996-1997 Skybox Z Force set, SPX 1996, SPX 1997 sets
A classic!
No love for early-1990's set? Like the 1990 NBA Hoops or 1990 SkyBox set? 🤣
Late-90's "high-end" sets were the best. I had the almost-completed set of 1997-98 Flair Showcase. I should rebuilt the set again.
Hahaha. Well if I can only choose 10…
Don't you think it's crazy that they flipped the numbers and letters for the 96-97 Exl backs? I thought it should be backward?
The base set? Printing on the back would be the same as any other card
Know what I'm saying is the numbers in the letters of their jerseys are also flipped. Since it's acetate the front would look frontwards and the back should look backwards but it doesn't.
COVID free finally!
1996 SPx Is way too high fleer metal universe should be much higher.
Actually all the SPx are overrated on this list. I personally hate the holograms as they look silly these days. I’d rather a lot of other stuff.
I love them. I’d love to see a video of your list.
E-Motion
Those are nostalgic
