It can’t get anymore 90’s than hearing Upper Deck and Fleer making bball cards!!! I remember i had a skybox autographics of BJ Armstrong, but it was a error card with the back upside down lol. Man being a kid ripping up packs was so much fun back then.
Killer list! The holograms hit me…also for me, something about the 96 hardwood prospects are sooo nostalgic for me. I remember pulling camby, marbury, iverson and of course Kobe all in the card shop…brings me straight back!
The Scoring Kings totally had 93-94 but I always thought the Upper Deck Behind the Glass were so original and had MJ and my guy Shawn Kemp. I still remember pulling the Fleer Ultra Famous Nicknames MJ card. A great list again!
Fantastic showcase of 90's designs! Thank you so much for sharing your insights to this amazing era of cards. As a vintage guy I need some help as I've only picked up a handful of '90s stuff. I remember those Emotion N'Tense very well but never had one as a kid. Pretty amazing looking. Thanks again for putting this together for us!
great list!, always loved the cut above inserts!!. 96 and 97 had the best and most iconic inserts imo, the 96 z-force big men on court for obvious reasons and the stadium club hardcourt style triumvirates where always my favourite because of the unique die-cuts i guess! , so iconic and unique in the fact that they where the first crazy die cut inserts i can remember.
One of my favorite videos! I had to circle back now that I've almost completed the Hot Numbers set. It definitely is one of the sets I think of when it comes to collecting as a kid. I remember trying to trade a whole stack of pulled inserts for the Glenn Robinson as a kid. There were cards shows set up in the mall back then. It was the first time I saw one outside of a Beckett. The guy turned me down, so I'm not too upset about not having him. Just Jordan and Webber left 😁
@@90sbballcards Two of the best! The Rodman is especially fun because he looks like he's up to something. You can just tell by that face. The back is just as good because they compare him to Wilt with his 30 rebound game 🐛
Some of my favourite inserts were from 93-94 NBA hoops they are not very expensive raw but the face to face and Supreme Court are such nice cards. Was very happy when I pulled those back in the day.
I agree with it all Jake! Most excellent choices and reasons as always. The only one I would add (imo) is the 1998-99 Fleer Tradition Playmakers Theatre original pack pulled ones. I have a pack pulled Shareef Abdur-Rahim (got a PSA 9) and the look on these is unexplainable in words, but I'll try: Its pure beauty in every aspect of the design, the Golden wooden floor appearance, it is embossed, the minute details on the border, its jaw dropping. I remember when they came out I thought they were really awesome but obviously couldn't afford one at age 13-14. The fact there not numbered ones out there is a good reason to not make the list, as you really have to know the seller or know all the details to know what was pack pulled. Keep up the great work.
I saw the mj and penny jerseys displayed at the window display at diamond comics, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia end 90s. The owner, a hongkie dude pulled the mj from the 1st pack from a newly arrived box at his shop
Hey Jake, Great job with your channel and a big fan of your content, there is one thing you hardly see on RUclips is the old 90’s promo cards. Just wondering if it is something that you yourself collect and how big they were in the hobby?
Those Skybox autograph cards, T Mac signed some of those, one of the biggest names I could find, unless you were talking about a different year for that autographics run
What a great list! The only 2 picks I was surprised by was the last 2 years. I think the "new era of /100 inserts" should be in there - I would pick Fleer Tradition Playmaker's Theatre for the most iconic, many people would probably pick Hoops Slam Bams. Contenders in 99-00 would be Raise the Roof or Game Breakers (which I know you and me have both been hunting for in packs). What would you pick out of those?
@@90sbballcards for sure. I liked your picks and the reasonings for those 2 years as well! I was just curious which one of those /100 you think is the most iconic :)
I need a cut above of AI!! Very expensive insert and rare!!! 96-97 through 2001-02 had some of the best inserts to date!! I think u should of had the stardate 2000 insert from 96-97 e-x and I know there is so many but also the molten metal fusion and portraits!!
Why do you think it is that the Jordan scoring kings is worth so much more than the Jordan beam team when the pack odds were the same (I think) and the beam team set has 21 cards while the scoring kings set only has 10 cards. So the scoring kings should be an easier pull. Do you think its just because the scoring kings look so much cooler?
A few reason that I touched on in the video. - More visually appealing - 93-94 Fleer Ultra had other inserts and this a more desirable product than 92-93 TSC with just the 1 - Scoring kings were very condition sensitive
@@90sbballcards thats awesome. Love your channel. Huge 90s NBA fan. About a year ago I purchased a local card shop and have so much stuff in storage that I have yet to finish. Love finding those vintage and rare cards. Love the hobby! Keep up the great work.

Nostalgia is the best!
I've still got got that exact card bro! Haha, no value but pulled it back in 96 and love it!! Lol
Nothing beats MJ rare inserts
Rare & Valuable 😉

Behind the glass was very cool. Love those photos! Famous Nicknames is absolutely a classic. One of my most desirable Penny’s as a kid!
I also have thar shaquille.... Famous nicknames... I think is 12dollars

90's inserts uniqueness and quality is on a different level from today's inserts....lots of inserts today look the same.
I couldn’t agree more

Wow 🤯
I love the game Jersey.... So beautiful design with a piece of worn Jersey player then their signature... In front is the hottest too...
They are classics
Nice video brother, and I actually have an uncut sheet of them Jordan holograms from upper deck. I’ve been collecting a lot of uncut sheets lately.
Thank you! 🙏🏼
That’s awesome!
I only need four more cards to finish my scoring king set, and I already have the Jordan and Shaquille O’Neal
A classic set for sure!
Been waiting for this video!

I actually have the 1992-93 beam Team set both the members only and the regular set
Oh wow!
I’m always curious how much of your collection you got as it was released vs. how much you purchased years later?
Oh that’s a great question. I’d guess the majority was later
Great job..let's gooooo
Thank you 🙏🏼
There's always a scummer in eBay selling a subset or something as an insert. Your dealing with the low of low at that level 😄😄😀
Hahah. Agreed
Wow. No love for Skybox Thunder Noyz Boyz?
That was the hardest choice I had to make. But my gut says DNGN is slightly higher on the arbitrary “iconic scale”

Jordon is….?
Not sure what you are saying here
Question for you now sir. Is mercari full of shit.. they signed cards.. rookies for 54 bucks?? Real??
Who signed cards? Which RCs for $54?
You sell any cards? Lol
Yes. Not as often as I probably should tho
