    Co Washing daily worked for me. I just washed and deep conditioned my hair 1 day/week. Once I stopped doing that and started low manipulation styles, my hair got dry and broke a little. It broke off even though I was moisturizing and refreshing with water and sealing with oil every other day. I'm back on the co-wash daily. I gotta do what works for my hair, not everyone else's.

      Now that I remember it, I think that was my case too... And I would hide that I cowashed daily. Then when I began doing mainly moisturizing using products and twist/braid outs, even with oiling and sealing... It was not the same.

      How often do you co wash?

  • @adelebrown4526
    @adelebrown4526 3 года назад +19

    I think the key is keeping your scalp as clean as possible as often as possible. The daily dose of water, which is the moisture, is definitely so game changing. Doing this routine always helps my hair thrive. 👍 But it's SUPER important to mke sure your hair is able to dry before the next wash or application of water. Because that is what will cause moisture overload-and you end up with dull, mushy feely (even when dry 😳) damaged hair. Her going outside further helps make sure her hair was drying properly.

    I too have started back co washing everyday. I am transitioning and the daily co washing is helping tremendously. I simply hated waiting once a week and every other week to wash my hair, not to mention, I got a lot of shedding waiting that long. this is my 3rd and final time going back to natural. Ive realized relaxers wreck havoc on my scalp, though I do love straight hair. Ive learned a lot this go round. How to use heat only on very few occasions. The health of my hair is more important than the length. The length and thickness will come with a healthy head of hair. Daily co washing DEFINATLEY make hair grow FASTER

    Thanks to you I've been co washing mon-fri and shampooing and deep conditioning on Sat for a week and a half and my hair is very soft and manageable now. I make sure I rinse with cold water, that is the 🗝. I think you might've helped save my hair! Love you Maryam😚

    I've started doing this recently or every other day. I've seen improvements in just over a week. my hair is just so dry my scalp makes no oil I swear. It gets so dry that it breaks off easily. I haven't colored or bleached in so long and cut it all off but I think I damaged my follicles to be this dry permanently and wetting it daily seems to be keeping it hydrated and healthier

      cassandra cano black folks can wet their hair daily. I have a handy dandy spray bottle and I spray my hair throughout the day. I put water, oils, and conditioner with mostly water in it. Black women don't like to wet their hair because of frizz. But we need water more than any race especially if you have low porosity hair like me.

But when you glide it through your hair in this video, it makes me feel like EVERYBODY should be able to enjoy such detangling satisfaction. But then I have to snap back to reality wide-tooth comb it is for me. 😃😃😃😃

      Gina Jones CURL PATTERN is ACTUALLY the structure of the curl kink coil.
      It has NOTHING to do with porosity,density, strand thickness, Protein vs moisture balance, cuticle structure, reaction to heat vs water etc.
      Parts of my hair structure has 1/8 inch zig zags and coils.
      4c Right? but with wash and goes they instantly clump to 1/2 inch curls/coils.

      all you have to do is like she does after she gets out of the shower, she wraps he hair in a micro fiber turban towel, which can be purchased in any beauty supply store. even dollar tree have them for $1.00.these towels will not pull out your hair like regular towels, it will dry your hair of the access water, which will make your hair dry naturally faster. hope this helps.

    Sooooooo...... I have not co-wash my 4c hair everyday yet. But I did it twice last week. I use a lot of products so this weekend I used Aussie moist Mega moist conditioner and I was able to do my whole wash day with no tools. The only difference is, since I use gel in my hair I had to follow up with sulfate-free shampoo after conditioning wash to make sure the gel was out of my hair. There are levels to this ish. Eventually I may not need gel to Define My Curls as I work my way up to conditioner only washing. Wish me luck

      I Struggle with moisture.
      I go Very Light on products,
      I mist my hair with enough water daily and leave it for 5 mins or more to absorb before styling.
      Those were my two biggest mistakes.
      1 too much product
      2 not understanding how much time my hair needs to absorb water.
      I also try Baking Soda
      1/2 cup conditioner to 1 teaspoon of baking soda.

      I have 4a/4b TWA. Newly natural & just big chop in Feb. I have tried washing once a week, going twice a week, every 2 wks, and every other day and I can honestly say co washing every other day or every day works much better. I have less tangles, more definition, more moisture, just all around better feeling, looking and manageable hair. I also have low porosity hair so I do end up having wet hair for half the day, but it is worth it. I deep condition once a week and I no longer seal with an oil. It was doing nothing for my hair, but I do oil my scalp on my deep conditioning day. When I co wash daily or every other day I can finger detangle and have less shedding.
      Also, the longer and thinner the hair the loser the curl pattern can be.

      The best way to dry hair fast without blow drying is actually your car's heat or ac if you have a car. It should be dry by the time you get to work or whatever you go

    • @fayedixon677

      you can never have too much water for your hair, because water is the only true moisturizer there is. locking in that moisture is the key to moisturized hair.

      Look up Hallease. She’s a 4c RUclipsr with locs now. A few years ago she tried daily washing for a month and then ended up doing it for a year.
      You never know what’s possible until you try.
      You can’t let RUclips define what your hair type can and can’t do. I recently started overnight plopping my type 4 hair for evening wash and gos. There aren’t any videos about it so I had no way of knowing if it would work for my hair type. Now I do them all the time.

      @@denyshadials5702 what is plopping?

    • @denyshadials5702
      @denyshadials5702 5 лет назад +2

      Chalsey Wilder
      Pineappling your wet/damp wash n go inside of a t-shirt overnight. There are some videos about it, but none of them have my texture. So the twisting with the towel/t-shirt you see them do, I can’t do that that, it’ll mess up my definition.
      If you scroll down to the bottom, that’s the wrapping technique I use. And I don’t squish my head towards the bed, I let my hair stand up as is:

    Do you detangle it daily when you cowash daily ? I love to moisturize it everyday and I always fingerdetangle my hair, so that the product can go inside of my hair. But I lose so much hair while detailing and I am careful. Can I cowash and moisturize it every day without detangling? Or will this worse the breakage ? Lovely greetings

    This method has akways worked for me. Cowash daily, shampoo and deep condition or sometimes prepoo, shampoo, ordinary conditioner. I dont prepoo AND deep condition. I realised the mistake I made was doing too much and simply causing unnecessary build-up.

    I noticed you didn't go any where near your scalp. Do you wait until you shampoo to do that? I've never been a fan of co-washing because I'm convinced it leaves a film on my scalp even with thorough rinsing that eventually itches and causes flakes. Based on this video it seems that I've been co-washing all wrong.

    • @GinaJonesStillettoQueen
      @GinaJonesStillettoQueen 6 лет назад +12

      nicadrmar I know you weren't talking to me but yeah conditioner don't belong on the scalp, only the hair. You have natural oils for that your body produces. I'm a swimmer so I had to do this. I mainly used acv for my scalp and conditioner for my hair.

    • @nicadrmar
      @nicadrmar 6 лет назад +8

      No I appreciate your input Gina because this could be a game changer for me. I love the idea of co washing but I couldn't deal with itching and flakes. I'm going to try this routine and see how my hair likes it.

    • @kennedy2893
      @kennedy2893 6 лет назад +10

      nicadrmar Yes, also using actual cleansing conditioners! Because they have cleansing agents to clean the scalp whereas normal conditioner do not, so they leave a film

      If it is a cleansing cowash like Eden body works has you can use it on your scalp but regular rinse out conditioners don't put those on your scalp Eden body works can be found at Sally's for 8.99
