- Taylor's Dream - She has been dreaming of becoming a pilot since she was just four years old. So, we took her to UPS Worldport to see what her future in the skies would look like. Taylor was given a special tour of Worldport by UPS pilot Captain Gloria Hatcher, who is living proof that her dreams could one day be a reality. As if her day couldn’t get any better, Taylor was introduced to Captain Dave and given the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to co-pilot a flight on a six-seater Beechcraft. It’s safe to say Taylor’s future in the skies is looking pretty bright.

She made me cry ! good for her ! she will be happy being a pilot for sure ! that was my dream at her age ! i ended up being a hiway truck driver coast to coat Canada including Newfoundland, yukon, and Noth West Territories, . 35 years, no accidents and now retired i am 65 years old and don t regret my choice ! If you can be a Pilot ! be a pilot ! if you can t , well there s always a great demand in trucking...good luck !

Don’t give up on your dream, Taylor! Since I can remember I never wanted to do anything else but be a pilot. 48 years of flying later I love it as much as I ever did. Im a retired 747 Captain now, and my last flight was the same exciting feeling as my first one. I never lost my almost child-like fascination with it. You’re getting started young, which is good. It’s the greatest job in the entire world. Don’t let anyone tell you you can’t do it. Best of luck to you, and never give up! Fly safe!
It's normal for a young boy to assume that girls can't be pilots because the majority of pilots by far are male, when I was very little I always assumed that only men can drive cars and women can't just because my dad would be driving the car the whole time. My point is, I hope she's not doing this career just to say "I told you so" but rather, I hope she's doing it because she legitimately loves it. I saw a separate video of a girl who pretty much wanted to become a pilot just to prove the boys wrong. I think that's a very stupid way to start your piloting career, but again I hope that the girl in this video wants to fly because she actually loves flying.

It will not. Pilots will be needed until at least the year 2100. It is simply not safe and possible yet to have pilotless planes the way the aviation industry is

So she whines and complains after *one* person talks her down? For young kids, it's not uncommon to have assumptions about things after seeing them for yourself in person. For example: my dad is older than my mom, and as a little kid I thought that the husband always needs to be older than the wife. I went around saying that to everyone and they said I was wrong. Most commercial pilots are males, and it's easy for a young mind to assume that all pilots need to be males. In my honest, humble opinion, I don't think this little girl deserves the right to be in the flight deck if this is how she thinks and acts.
I am positive you and I were not watching the same video. Never once did she come off thinking this was a male-only career. She actually defended her position with another young person. I know what is it like to have a dream at 10-years-old wanting to fly a plane and then succeeding in my dream to become a pilot. Maybe you should actually watch the video. UPS set up a program to make wishes come true for those with a dream. Are you just trolling for hits?
@@SellSedona I know the flying career's for everybody. But in the video, her ultimate goal is to become a pilot so she can prove that boy wrong. Boys become pilots because they love flying, but this girl is primarily doing it because she wants to prove some random kid wrong. As I mentioned in my other comment, it's easy as a little kid to misinterpret that kind of stuff, as most pilots are males, it's easy for one young mind to think that because of that, only men can be pilots. When I was in elementary, a girl said she wanted to grow a beard when she grew up, and I told her she couldn't, because in my mind, I saw only men had beards and women didn't. And she's not really "defending" her position, she's just trying to prove that kid wrong. I hate to be sexist but a lot of women are taking the pilot career for granted.
@@thecomedypilot5894 I think we have a disconnect. Though Taylor starts the video out that way, her mom stated that every since she (mom) could remember, Taylor wanted to be a pilot. I will assume that the little boy didn't know she (Taylor) wanted to be a pilot until Taylor told him. That would be when he stated you can't be a pilot.... I know how I felt at ten about being a pilot and I just think Taylor is going to make this work. Now she even has a memory sitting in a cockpit with the yolk in hand. We just have a difference of opinion on the presentation of this video.
@@SellSedona I want to become a pilot because I love to fly. Simple as that. Maybe I am underestimating her, but I'm really not fond of people becoming pilots just to show others that they can do it. I want people to become pilots because they actually love and care for the job, which is what Taylor does.
She is simply pointing out that was told she can’t become a pilot because she is a girl. She isn’t doing this just to prove him wrong, she said this in hope that other girls who are thinking about becoming a pilot don’t get put off from it because they are female.
