    Thank you for bringing up Caleb Williams. I was watching that game and thought it was ridiculous that the quarterback tried to fake going to the sidelines and then almost got hurt and caused the player to almost get fined. When are the quarterbacks going to be held accountable?

      🎯🎯💯 thank you! I'd tell my players to take no chances & to hit the QB every time. Either the QB's would learn not to mess around or the league would figure something out. It's ridiculous the way they hamstring the defense nowadays

    • @N0TYALC

      Penalties are the problem, not the solution. Stop penalizing NFL defenders for tackling NFL ball carriers. It's absurd. Giving the quarterback all of this special privilege has made the sport much, much worse.

      @rogerolsen19 my point is to get down before someone gets a chance to hit you with a forearm (which happens all the time btw). The slide is there to protect yourself, not just merely end the play.

    I have an idea. Put a red LED light around the QBs helmet. Put a chip in wvery defensive players' helmet. Once the defensive player gets within 3 yards of the QB, the red light goes off, and the play is dead. Until you stop Maholmes, Allen etc. from faking slides and faking going out of bounds this won't stop.

    • @N0TYALC
      @N0TYALC 6 часов назад

      Better idea: remove special protections from the QB position. If you sign up to play NFL football, you shouldn't be surprised when you get tackled while running with a football. That's what happens to football players.

    Should have been more than 3 games. His "apology" was so idiotic. "I try to hit someone as hard as I can every play and then pray they get up." What a moron. This isn't UFC, it's football and in no environment from HS football to pros are coaches telling their players to "hit someone as hard as you can every play", you miss way too many tackles trying to be a show off rather than doing what you need to make the play.

    • @twistedconversations782

      @N0TYALC 6 часов назад

      If you honestly believe that there are zero coaches at any level instructing their players to hit hard, you are dreaming. Hard hits are encouraged. They always have been, they always will be. I remember my HS coaches teaching us how to tackle properly, and emphasizing that we should "explode through contact". I remember them singling out opposing players and saying things like "he's always one big hit from a fumble". You can choose to believe in this make-believe version of football where nobody wants to inflict needless pain on their opponent if you want, but it's a fantasy. It is a full contact sport. Physical bullying and intimidation are not scandals, they are celebrated and effective tactics.

    If I'm a Defensive Coordinator or a player on the defense, I'm telling my players/myself to drill the QB _every_ time. I wouldn't encourage or take a cheap shot to the head, but I'd absolutely tell my players to line em up between the numbers & hit em. There's been way too many QB's taking advantage of sliding late for a few extra yards, ducking out of bounds late for extra yardage or faking they're sliding at all & continuing to run for big yards. So I'd just live with the possibility of a penalty & make the league figure it out. Eventually the QB's would learn not to mess around with my teams defense/me

    I completely agree with the suspension and Dan's point, but the Allen/Lawrence take is why there is little consistency to begin with. Are they all defenseless or are they runners? Can't have both and expect defensive players to make that distinction in a split second. That probably would have been 1 game suspension if it were Allen, because running QBs get less grace because of their style of play. Dirty is dirty and wrong is wrong whether you're Peyton Manning or Mike Vick.

    Maybe I'm blinded by the H-Town sun. I saw a forearm to the hurt shoulder of Trevor Lawrence. I see the initial impact at the top of the shoulder pad. I saw the slide and the defensive launch happen @ same time. Then they charging him for instigating the brawl. The brawl wouldn't have happened If Ingram had not took matters in his own hands. Who gets fine or suspended for jaguar? C'mon. You don't want players to react like that neither. Just like the fine you gave Azees, in bears game. Yall are hypocrites.

    Al-Shaair was going for a waist high tackle and reacted simultaneously with the Lawrence slide. It was bang bang. The major media guys' reaction like Dan's is crazy to me?

      You don’t go for a waist high tackle with the back of your forearm like that. Makes your whole argument look moronic. His arm being backwards means he wasn’t going for a normal tackle.

      @@raynerlarue8004 there’s 20+ examples of how players avoid hitting a sliding QB every Saturday and Sunday. This was not that. Usually they put their hands up to avoid the hit the best they can. Not extend their forearm into the QB jaw lol

      @@TyJStern I realize that the forearm is a bad look. All I'm saying is I can't read the defenders' mind and just maybe he wasn't trying to intentionally injure Trevor. At least I would hope not.

    Next time just let Trevor get the first down. You can't hit a QB when they are running towards you, they can just slide at any time and that gives the other team permission to gang jump you.

    I guess a shoulder to the head, or a helmet to the head would be preferable, because with Trevor late slide that is all he left exposed to a hit. Guess it's time to lead with the feet?
