Worked with Andrew early in his career when I was an intern in football. In my opinion people rewrite history and act like Luck was getting sacked all the time...he ran all over the place and that's where most his injuries came from. I like that he pushed back on that notion because I think it is a lazy take. Andrew was fun to watch and he put his body on the line every week. He is one of the most fascinating people I've ever met and treated everyone with respect and kindness. I'm happy he and his family are back and happy at Stanford and I'll always root for his success.
He was sacked 73 times in 2 seasons. Nobody is re-writing history when they say he got sacked a lot. The only reason it wasn't 100 is because he was built like a shithouse and had superhuman perception. I don't know how many plays I distinctly remember him shaking off multiple people grabbing him, doing everything BUT getting the sack and he would escape and complete a pass or run for a first down. Goofball take. Yes, he risked his health by running around and putting his body on the line. He also got the shit smashed out of him in the pocket his first 2 seasons especially. Both can be true.
@@AceManning18I just mean its not like he was David Carr back there standing in the pocket taking sacks damn near every play. He was always a runner even at Stanford. Man, this guy was special. Probably the most perfectly built quarterback to have ever entered the NFL. 6'4, 240 lbs with the athleticism of Aaron Rodgers and the intelligence of Peyton Manning. @@drexlspivey3047seriously as a Colts fan this shit has to stop. We need to make one thing clear - when they talk about Luck and say he was the best prospect ever, best prospect since Elway/Manning or whatever, it's almost entirely because of his brain and level of advancement when entering the league. Admittedly, that was light years ahead of Newton or Allen. But physically? He wasn't a one in a million guy like those 2. Everything was really good, nothing was truly elite. There were QBs with stronger arms, faster, bigger, stronger. People get carried away with the hyperbole. Physically there are usually 1 or 2 guys every year who are comparable to Luck, at least nowadays. Mentally is another story. Bruce Arians system is not easy to learn, and it leaves the QB open to getting hit a lot. What do you actually mean when you say these things about him. That's all. Carry on.
No he's properly rated. A great talent that didn't really live up to the hype but certainly had a respectable career that no one can take away from him that he belonged out there and was far from a bust.
@DavidMartinez-pg3zq luck. The new gm for the Stanford football team. And if your asking whose underrating him anyone who leaves him off the top ten talented QB list
Met one of his former linemen, Hugh Thornton, at a golf course recently. He said Andrew was a fantastic person but a terrible gift giver at Christmas 😂

He wantsto make a difference and the truth is he is the best recruiter we have-the donner stuff will be tough but his dad can help with that
Great to see Andrew Luck, one of the very best and brightest who gently exposes Dan Patrick's very east coast bias toward west coast athletics. Thank you, Andrew Luck!
Dan Patrick is meant for the bottom feeder, mouth breathing, shallow casual fan. That’s basically what Dan is himself. You can always depend on Dan to ask the most predictable, tired, cliched questions. Oh and you can always depend on him to ask his guest a question and then immediately interrupt them pushing back, which makes absolutely no sense
Wonderful that he is happy and doing well. He is the most talented quarterback I have ever seen. It’s sad that he never had the necessary support to have achieved the professional goals that seemed due to him.
Glad to see he is happy. Great QB who hopefully turns around Stanford. in saying that don’t know why anyone would get involved in college football if they had other options. NIL and transfer portal has made it infinitely harder especially for smaller schools
I can’t help but get sad whenever I hear about Andrew Luck people don’t know how good he was and the Colts just did nothing for him and let him get beat up until that 2018 year but at that point it was too much for him to take. Still wish we could see him play
I have been really surprised at how little insight Brady has offered. He has not done a good job explaining the game or giving us any more insight than we see on the TV. It’s like he slow on the uptake which cannot be the case. Not everyone is good at articulating what they are seeing I’m not sure if he’s going to get better.
Seems like a really well rounded human being. Probably a great dad. Will be interesting to see if he gets to the top of his new career or if he just takes the passenger seat.
And why hasn’t the Stanford AD Bernard Muir been doing everything the new GM is supposed to do? Fire the AD, keep the football coach. (from a Stanford grad who started a year before Bill Walsh arrived)
Right! I don’t understand the job description. Is he in charge of hiring and firing coaches? Does he control the budget and NIL budget/process? Very confusing. And I guess we don’t really need to understand…
If he was able to suit up and play QB for Stanford next year they would make the playoffs. The only GM in any sport whose better then any of the players at his position lol
So Andrew’s role is analogous to an NFL GM? The head football coach reports to him? Really interesting. I was under the impression that their main purpose was management of NIL funds/fundraising.
Thank Ryan Grigson for ruining, not only Andrew Luck’s career, but the entire colts franchise and future - which is now the present. Haven’t been able to find a reliable QB since. Hopefully it’s AR5 but that’s very much TBD.
@geoycs i can agree with that I'm speaking of the role in general. In this case people at Stanford have different motivations and he has a different standing there than most gms would
His injuries with the Colts were a strange time because the Colts were never honest to the public about his health and his rehab. One rumor is that one of his worst injuries happened when he was snowboarding in the offseason. For his final injury, Luck has a "leg injury", but the Colts wouldn't specify what the injury was.
