  • The Chagos Islands' international status leaves thousands of displaced individuals and asylum seekers stranded. For over 50 years, the archipelago's indigenous inhabitants have waged a battle to return home, having been evicted after the US built a military base on Diego Garcia Island. Meanwhile, hundreds of asylum seekers, languish in the British Indian Ocean Territory, enduring conditions that even the Foreign Office admits are unsuitable.

Chagossians were ill treated in Mauritius that’s why it can’t be compared to the Chagossians’ peaceful life on the Chagos under British colony!

Chagossians British citizenship is not a compensation but a right to nationality! All chagossians were born under British colony, they are British at birth! Chagossians can’t be compared to asylum seekers coming by boat to the UK because Chagossians have been forcibly displaced and never asked for independence!
