I completely agree. My first Silversea cruise was in 1996 on the Silver Cloud and the last one (so far) in 2018 on the Shadow. Loved every single one of my 580 days on board
FIVE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY DAYS? Did I read that right Miriam? Wow! I can't wait to meet you on board and buy you a drink (well, if they weren't complimentary!) I'm glad we produced a video that someone as experienced as you though was good enough! It's made my day. :)
Looking forward to getting back on board once life gets back to (the new) normal. Silversea is on my 'must do' list thanks to you and your enjoyable videos. The editing and content are always first rate. Much appreciated!
They also have a wonderful Spa on Silver Spirit and throughout the ship lots of orchids and I loved the pictures of Gustav Klimt on the walls. While sitting on the pooldeck, having lunch, someone came by and offered to clean our eyeglasses. One time watching the ship leave, a tray of champagne came by. I still say Silversea cruises are the best.

I went to a Silversea cruise in summer 2015. The cruise went from Venice to Istanbul onboard Silver Spirit (before it was lengthened). It was probably the best travel experience I have ever had. Everything from the service to food was absolutely perfect!

We haven't been on Silverseas but we had an amazing time in the Galapagos on a motor yacht carrying 16 passengers, which we loved. Silverseas looks like a great way to see the islands. Hopefully we'll return one day.
We hope to return too one day Angela. Weren't they just the most amazing islands? Serious life changing stuff there. Silver Origin looks like the ultimate way to enjoy them too. :)
Really looking forward to my next cruise on this line..they have truly been amazing..service..food and the cabin..as a kid we look to the stars and see the moon..that’s a ship that is on the bucket list..
Oh, Yes! Celebrated my 70th birthday on the Silversea Spirit on a cruise from BA to Barbados along the Brazilian coast and my 75 th on a Silversea expedition ship to the Antarctic via the Falklands and South Georgia. Lovely overview. (Wonderful voice as well!) Thank you! I am an avid traveler and love cruising. COVID hit the travel industry significantly-I specialize in cruise planning and it has been a very difficult 15 plus months (as you can imagine). Luckily, travel and cruising is back! Preparing to leave on a cruise, August 4th - Athens to Cairo. Cannot wait! If anyone is truly in the market, I would be happy to make your next cruise reservation. Looking forward to the next video! Until then, travel well.
Thanks for watching and commenting Justine. Yes, it's been a torrid time for those in the travel industry. Here's hoping for a decent bounce back recovery when confidence returns. :)
Thanks for watching and commenting Julie. I would consider Seabourn and Silversea to be the closest in terms of rivalry, and if you're used to one, then I'd definitely recommend you try the other. :)
Watched this this morning, but waited to comment until my wife had a chance to check something out. Then of course the day got in the way of a response. 1. Thanks for the review. It's fun to learn about ships and lines we've not been on, like Azamara. It's also fun to see a review of a line or ship we've been on, Queen Mary 2, or this case, Silver Sea. 2. At the 2:08 point you have a picture of two butlers. The one on the left sure looks like "Our" butler from Silver Cloud in SEP/OCT '19 between Quebec City and Ft Lauderdale. Of course I did not get a picture of him. Nor do I remember his name. He is so far the best cabin attendant of any type we've had. Number two was our room steward in Emerald Princess through the Panama Canal. Juan Carlos, on Emerald FAR surpassed the butler in Queens Grill, on QM2. 3. Fun, at least for us story about our Silver Cloud cruise. We'd a low deck veranda for the trip. I happened to catch a BIG price drop on the web site one day. Asked our agent to check on what she could do. We went from a lower deck veranda to a Medallion Suite for not nearly as much as we thought it would cost. The next week the prices were back up. 4. I loved the expedition staff on Silver Cloud. There were 20 folks just on the expedition staff. On a ship with 200 passengers that's pretty significant. My BA is in Anthropology so having a PHD and a PHD candidate, both in Cultural Anthropology (Social Anthro to you Brits) to talk to was great! 5. One of the things what we loved about Silver Cloud dinning was that we were encouraged to invite ANY member of the crew, expedition staff, or ship's company to join us for supper. We were a bit reluctant at first but ended up having several great conversations over great food. Thanks for bringing back some great memories. BTW, yes, I'm a subscriber David

I can't wait for the rests in your small ships videos, I see that Silversea has one of the original eight Renaissance (Renaissance Iii) yacht style ships all though they were built in two mathing pairs the first fours most striking difference is the smoke stacks stick out to the sides. The first four were 100 pax 72 crew, length 88.3m and 4,077 gt, nstaed of 114 pax 72 crew a length of 90.6m and4,200gt Of cause Renaissance Cruise Line went on to build another eight bigger ships in 1998 to 2001 all were identical this time several are now Azamara ships, the casino company I worked forbade the casino on the smaller ships when I had left working on the ship and working as Vice President of Operations, this gave me the opportunity to ìsland hope from one small ship to another, Sea Goddess now Sea Dream, Seabourn, and Club Med Uising. Sorry I digress, great times. As always keep up the great work.
Hi Dave! Have you pressed the bell so you’re notified every time we upload a vid? In any case, please leave a comment or three letting us know how you found the new videos! Cheers! 😀
@@visitwithus Yep, bell has been rung a few times now :-) I'm actually going through your Silversea trips, we are giving serious thoughts to an Antarctic cruise in 22.
My wife and I are only around are fourteenth cruise, so nowhere near as experienced as others in this conversation ... but we can compare and do like Silversea, even though I liked them a bit better before they became part of the RCL group (and I'm guessing they would've been cruising right now - as MSC is doing - if they had remained a purely Italian company). The real disappointment is that they aren't providing their customers with options to sail during these times, whereas companies with bigger ships (or at least some of them) have found a way to get us on the waves.
Hi Peter. Thanks for watching and I totally take your comment on board. Unfortunately, the ads are set by RUclips and I can't control what you see. We have to keep the ads on the channel as they are the only form of earnings we get to enable us to invest in the latest camera gear to keep us making ever better quality videos. :)
Great question! Each are fantastic and we like some things better on Seabourn and some things better on Silversea. We're currently writing a head-to-head video comparing the two. A sort of Celebrity Death Match. Who will come out the winner. Stay tuned! :D
@@visitwithus lol! Tough duel! I’ve been many times on seabourn and love it but interested to try silversea. Friends that have been on both say silversea has upped their game recently. Looking forward to your video!
The pizza has a thick crust, I prefer the thin crusted pizzas in Alfredo’s on Princess, best in the world. Just as well as we are never likely to afford Silversea.
We agree with you Chris - we LOVE Alfredo's! If you watch our latest Princess video (the little things we love about Princess), we mention Alfredo's as one of our favourite places on the whole ship! :D
Well, the term 'all inclusive' historically only referred to things like food, drinks, gratuities etc and not flights, excursions, transfers etc. Nowadays though, these are becoming more part of the package (and so they should)! :D
Hi Rich and Helen, (see here ) (ruclips.net/video/4FYf8pQXv6A/видео.html) Silver Moon Preview. 32 days till Christmas. What are you going to do for the holidays? Hope all is well there. Seems the world is going into lockdown. We get a 4 day reprieve the 24th-27th of Dec for family gatherings here in Montreal. Happy Christmas ...
Yet their balcony chairs (where I spend most of my time) look like they were bought at the local hardware store. I can attest that they are also uncomfortable.
@@visitwithus Everything RC touches get ruined entirely. I am not positive about it. There have been small changes years after years, but lately they are more dramatic. Silversea it’s still good but I am not that impressed as in the past. I think I am going back to Crystal and perhaps Hapag Lloyd. Ponant is amazing but they have gone intolerably expensive.
Hi, I really do enjoy your videos, think they are fabulous. But, what I would like to know is this, where do these butlers who you say are fully trained professionals get their professional training? I ask as their uniforms if that is the word seem very ill fitting. Trousers far too long and look far from being professionals.
@@visitwithus Oh ok. Then why do you make these videos? I do enjoy them a great deal, but they sound like ads lol. Also, have you been on the Ritz carlton cruse?
@@JoeyD-m8w We make these videos because we enjoy making them, the creative process etc and also we like to promote the positive side of cruising. If being positive sounds like an ad, then so be it. There’s enough moaning minis out there. 🙂
@@visitwithus Oh that is interesting. Everything nowadays is sponsored so it is refreshing to see someone who just does it for fun. Also, I do enjoy your use of language; it is very creative.

Do you prefer silversea over seabourn? If so why? Thanks!
My cruise line .I did 3 and I refuse to changed it
Thanks for watching 😊
The pizza has a thick crust, I prefer the thin crusted pizzas in Alfredo’s on Princess, best in the world. Just as well as we are never likely to afford Silversea.
We agree with you Chris - we LOVE Alfredo's! If you watch our latest Princess video (the little things we love about Princess), we mention Alfredo's as one of our favourite places on the whole ship! :D
Shore excursions not included ? ( until 2022) I’m surprised… thought you said all inclusive
Well, the term 'all inclusive' historically only referred to things like food, drinks, gratuities etc and not flights, excursions, transfers etc. Nowadays though, these are becoming more part of the package (and so they should)! :D
I have never been on a cruise yet.
Thanks for watching. You'll love it when you eventually do! :D
"if you havent tried silversea for yourself, what are you waiting for?"
my bank balance to increase then i can go
Haha! Yes William, I forgot to mention you need quite a sizeable bank balance! 😂 Thanks for watching.
We have been cruising Oceania for the past 5 years or so and was wondering how these two compare. Any ideas from anyone?
Sorry David. We've not sailed on Oceania yet but hope to very soon. :)
Oceania has the best food I’ve had in over60 cruises but the Entertainment is lacking. Great Suites though
We rarely find balcony chairs very comfortable unfortunately 😞
It was. Since it’s part of RC, it’s not my favourite any longer
Oh dear, sorry you feel like that. We didn’t notice too many changes on our last voyage on Nova but time will tell we suppose.
Thank you Len. In answer to your question, we don’t know I’m afraid. We always find them very attentive and helpful though 😊
Are you being paid for this?
Not a sausage. We don't get paid for anything, any video by any cruise line.
@@JoeyD-m8w No we’ve not been on Ritz Carlton but would like to try them.
@@visitwithus Oh that is interesting. Everything nowadays is sponsored so it is refreshing to see someone who just does it for fun.
Also, I do enjoy your use of language; it is very creative.
