I’m so happy whenever people are talking about this game. It’s so good and fun. I understand the fact that the men look different from the girls, but I do think that it’s because the girls are all very young, around 18 if I recall correctly, while the only two men with sprites are in their thirties or sixties. The artist, Kira, who was also the art director made illustrations of various young male characters and they do look consistent. Also I must just say that I absolutely love all the supernatural things in the game. It feels legitimately how I imagine deals with the devil and witchery would have happened back in the day in these situations. Ozzy and Murim are both so cute as well.
This game has a sequel, Pocket Mirror, released several years earlier and remastered in 2023. Although it is initially confusing, its allegorical narrative has made it one of my favorite games. Each character and setting has a lot to say and I love how it all builds off of each other. The gameplay is also quite different from Little Goody Two Shoes and focuses more on solving riddles. You should try it.
I'm not usually a fan of horror, but this game and Madoka Magica are exceptions. LGTS is so good, and it's a must play for anyone who's a fan of sapphic storylines.

Let's be real, the 90s anime style is what sells the horror in this game. If it was in a modern anime style, then it wouldn't work. The eyes that make up 80% of the head might be the appeal?

Light 'n' fluffy but Dark 'n' heavy? Sounds like my cup of tea. Also I get what you mean about the religious aspects. Contrary to popular belief, the Witchhunts are not as hollywood tells us. Some were but a lot of the time J'cussing someone to burn at the stake wasn't common. There would be a trial and judge of the character on the person, even if it was an emergency meeting. Not to mention there was an understanding of witches being good, varying from folklore but I digress. I think games such as In Stars & Time, Voidstranger and Iconoclasts deals with topics of religion & faith in interesting ways, even if the are not the main thems of the games.
Kbash did a video on this one, too, and he gushed about it just as much. It seems like one of those games that hardly anyone has played, but everyone who has played it winds up loving it.

I found out this game was a prequel before it came out so I got Pocket Mirror and finished it first. I love the artstyle for both games, so cutesy horror. Pretty fun time, love the mirror maze chase in Pocket Mirror and the guiding of the lost child in Little Goody Two Shoes the most. Fav characters from each game Enjel and Elise! (I'll mostly talk about Two Shoes but some mentions of Pocket Mirror, some spoilers for both btw) Elise is a great main character! The game really puts you in her position and the player sees how taxing her day to day life is and how much of an outsider she is treated like by the town even though she's been there her whole life. Plus she's pretty funny. The artstyle is gorgeous, from the ui to the backgrounds to the animations!!!!! A solid concept and really interesting lore too. But I do agree that the puzzles/chases can be a bit frustrating, usually I'd finish a day or two in the game and pick it back up like a week later. I think it took me longer because I chose to talk to every single villager all the time and search for extra stuff every single time slot, plus I tried romancing two girls, so it'd take up a lot of my time (damn those golden maidens I missed like 3 or 4 ;-;). I however kind of liked that the game didn't hold your hand and sure it was frustrating not knowing exactly what to do but it was more rewarding when I figured it out by myself, for the puzzles anyway, chases were a tad too frustrating in my opinion (course I had to look up the fish statue because I too got that bug which was annoying). Ultimately I chose Rozenmarine to romance, she seemed to know more than the other characters, and after seeing her sacrifice ending I know it's the canon one because of Pocket Mirror which was neat to see, so I was happy with my first choice. Really liked most of the game and characters, though I wish the extra mystery involving granny Holle and Father Hans had a more in depth ending. I went through all the trouble of digging up secrets for this hidden ending that only took like a minute to play out. That ending and most of the ones for Pocket Mirror seemed a bit too short, felt like there should've been more to them. Overall good games, though Little Goody Shoes is the better of the two, which is good because it came after!

18:10 for some reason the game is bugged for the nintendo switch version. During the witching hour segment for Thursday. If you go in with all 18 previous golden maidens, talk to the four in the witching hour. You should have 22. (Cause there are 3 to find on friday) but the game is bugged in such a way to where it doesn't register one of the maidens and sets the count at 21 by Friday (I played the thursday witching hour segment 3 times just to make sure I didn't miss any or if it was a mistake on my part) but all three times it keeps the count at 21 instead of the correct number. And honestly that is such a bad glitch because it locks you out of a really cool cutscene(or ending because I refuse to look up what the reward is) I hope it gets fixed.
I don’t know. Maybe if you wanted to know what having a more olden times Witch experience was like you should have gone with the actual witch Rozenmarine. I mean she’s even got a cute fluffy goat friend to boot. What more could you want?

I watched the playthrough of a Vtuber playing Leb's route, but getting a bad ending. I wanted to play Rozenmarine's route, because her situation in the story made me worry with her the most among the girls. But my PC is too old and can't run the game! I don't know if I should just play Pocket Mirror instead, or watch a entire playthrough of LGTS. One day I think I will watch the good endings and all dates with Lebkuchen at least.

I actually thought the opposite regarding the diversity. Sure the body types point is fair. This art style is typically like that. The only big girl is used as a joke. But I was personally surprised by the few darker skinned ones in town and the more you see as tourist during the festival. As well as the total embarrassing the lesbian relationships in town I wouldn't have expected in this old highly religious German based setting.
