I would like to see how you finished the corners. If 1" extra is allowed all the way around then there's going to be a "box" at each corner, like a tray. In fact, if you have 1 or 2 factory edges why not slide the film in to the window corner without an extra allowance? Less to deal with.

Hi .. this appears to be for thinner, more flexible film. What about thicker fold - will that same instruction apply? IE: should 2 inches extra be added when cutting? It seems that the thick film will be difficult to maneuver with extra material around the sides. Thanks!

Do i need tO installed oN both side? How about If the length Of the Security film less 5 cm than windows, such as window length 157 cm, film length 152 cm does it Will impact ?
You can install on both sides. But it should cover whole window. And for better protection, we recommend caulking with dow corning 995 silicone as the attachment system.
With any window film, it is important that the soapy solution used during installation should be properly squeezed out with the squeegee once the film is up on the window. If there is soapy water left over between the film and the window, the moisture can interfere with the adhesive and cause bubbles to form soon afterwards, even if it was not apparent on the day of installation. Bubbles can happen with any film, but they can pose a problem particularly for security films, due to the increased thickness that makes it harder to squeeze out the water. This necessitates applying more pressure with the squeegee than for thinner films. A suggested tip is to first spray some soapy water on top of the film after it is on the window, before you apply the squeegee. This can help the squeegee glide over the film more easily. Note that the felt or tape side of the squeegee would ordinarily be used for this process; the other plastic or rubber side can be used when precision is needed, such as corners. Bubbles should be prevented in advance. Unlike cloudiness or streaks, bubbles would likely not disappear once they form, unless they are small enough (those about 1/8 inch or less in diameter can disappear as the film dries). If there are bubbles in a few specific spots, you can use a needle to poke the bubbles and let the air out from the gap, helping that spot stick. However, for security films, this can weaken these spots.
For this security film if somebody’s trying to kick in your window and you just applied the security film to the glass will they not be able to just kick everything in because you did not attach this to to the window frame ? How are you’ve just done is one they can’t just break the window and it crumbles now the glass sticks together and they just have to push it all in and now you have a big open window but if you were to wrap the film around the frame of the window if they break the glass in the frame of the window would keep it together Hans I would still push in with a very persistent they’ve bought so much noise then will be made that you could stop them !
Sorry to hear. Please refer the below link about Security Film Installation. buydecorativefilm.com/blogs/window-film-tips-and-information/how-thick-is-window-film-and-what-is-a-mil We hope this helps you to solve.
Sorry to hear. Another option for easier installation is pre-cut. Before installation, cut the film as the size of window first. And this make you to finish the installation without the trim process. Hopefully, this helps you.
Leave a slight overlap all around & then go over that with clear silicone 👌 that would help it all to adhere to the actual frame also 👀
What a great video! Really great tips
Thanks so much!
Is it the thick plastic to go on the window or the thinner one
Please use thicker one to install on the window. Thinner one is release liner which protect adhesive side of thicker film.

You put the top and either side in placeso you only have 2 inch extra on two sides rather than 1 on each side
She trimmed it off

BDF security films are thick films. Backing liner is thinner than the security film. So, yes stuffer film is the product.

I followed these instructions and the next morning my windows have soapy spots under the film. How can I fix this?

I'm as Mad as Hell and I'm Not going to take it anymore!!!
No, BDF security / safety films do not stop 5G frequencies.
