    The passion you transmit always makes me feel revitalized, especially after such an intense and stressful week.
    Probably too much metaphysical for a YT comment, but sometimes watching you makes me feel like it's okay to not be perfect, to be human, to feel and live emotions in the moment, where anything else doesn't matter, it's just you and music.
    It heals the soul.
    Thanks hermano.

    Be interested in your thoughts on the Deckard's Dream's balanced output. You appear to be plugging straight into the reverb pedal, so I assume that works but is it better to turn the balanced output into an unbalanced signal? Is there any advantage to that?

    • @russell_szabados
      @russell_szabados Год назад

      Unbalancing a balanced output defeats the purpose of having a balanced output, besides you'd have to get into splicing cables to do that, and that just sucks. (Some people like it I guess...) Balanced outs provide a unit's cleanest signal with the most gain, the increased gain is even in the name: balanced are also known as +4 dB out, and unbalanced are -10 dB. You don't have to use XLR connectors end to end for a balanced output, there are "regular" cables called TRS that provide the same clean, maximized gain. You can tell a TRS cable because it looks like a regular synth or guitar out cable, but the plug has two rings instead of just one.

    • @russell_szabados
      @russell_szabados Год назад

      P.S. standard synth & guitar output cables are also known as line level.

    • @Donetur
      @Donetur Год назад

      @bobmurray2534 I think Behringer also has features the original doesn’t have, you forgot to mention this as well. On the other hand, not even the Minimoog reissue sounds like the original 100%, nor Deckars Dream, nor SE02, nor Korg Odyssey, etc., it is not an easy task it seems (maybe aged components matter as well). But the important thing is that it sounds good and you can get the same utility with good sound, that’s all what matters when you create music. The Behringer synths sound close enough, they are a good purchasing.

    • @Donetur
      @Donetur Год назад

      @bobmurray2534 I think there are several good artists all over the world, only that they may not be famous or mainstream. I have found amazing artists. Personally I don’t care about the instruments others own, but some people seem to care, that’s the reason of a lot of that conversation sometimes, although the conversation is legit and valid. On the other hand, I think a lot of the time the Behringer gear sound like the original, only that sometimes it doesn’t (same as other clones from other brands), it it is usually not relevant and a lot of times is going with the synth to the limits. I don’t care about he helicopter sound, or whatever weird sound cannot be replicated, I like usable sounds which I can use in my music and the synths I own from Behringer do the job really well. That’s all what matters in my opinion.

    • @Donetur
      @Donetur Год назад

      @bobmurray2534 yeah, music is subjective, although I think there are factors to consider: 1) cultural factors, exposition to certain music can create engagement 2) there is certain level universal criteria (not absolute of course) for some things not all elements in music are completely subjective, for example the perception of conclusion in a chord progression, or the perception of what is a dissonance or what it is not, what is more tense and what is less tense, or the combinations of chords which work, there are thousand of compositions using some chord progressions, and it is because it is universally accepted as chords which work, or maybe all of us know that Beethoven or Mozart were great musicians, among other examples where subjective appreciations may become collective, there are studies about babies and music, reacting to tonal and atonal music, etc. 3)there is subjectivity, but it also depends on your perception, how trained you are, etc. Your own subjectivity could change the more you learn about music (the proof is that all of us found our first tracks great but this may change the more you learn music, because your are not blind to some elements which were not possible to detect before), subjectivity exist among experimented musicians, although the elements which people enjoy in certain genres can be used in other genres (example jazz chords in classical music or viceversa, it happened already where Debussy is one famous and important character). 4) I think even we could have suggestion as element, there are people who try to force their tastes, maybe because elitism (example: listening to classical music may be associated with socio economical topic and some people may need it to try belonging in some place or some people who listen atonal music and they convince theirselves that tonal music is no longer enjoyable because some people want to pretend they understand complex music, I have seen this).

The patches seem to be using the power of pure sine waves with some other layers on top of them. "Deckard Dreaming In Free Vital Synth" might be a nice video title. Then you can offer sounds and patches for that and almost anyone can design some of their own patches as long as they have a DAW. Just a suggestion for content...
