My first bike was a Panther model 100, 600cc setup with knobbies, for the rough county roads were I lived. That was 1958 when I was 13. Great adventuring.
Oh god... I dozed off a bit during this after binge-watching your vdos through the night and most of today...and woke up to your upsidedown face asking if I'm still awake 😂😂 And I shouted yes sir !!
As a 14 year old , a man in our village gave me a complete running 350 Panther with a sloping engine, just like the big ones . Living on a farm me and my friends rode it round and round the fields for hour after hour... We learned a lot about fixing, mending, straightening out, how to set ignition timing, adjust carburetors and so on? .Unfortunately as soon as we were old enough we past it on and bought motor cycles to use on the road. (Mine a 1937 Triumph Tiger 80 350. ). The first of many bikes but never forgot that first one. It was unbreakable despite the misuse it got. We broke more bits on ourselves than on it I think. Proper engineering.
'Just managed to squeeze six quid's worth in' the fuel tank ?.. Two years after this video was first posted that's almost a WHOLE LITRE !.. I just keep unintentionally finding my way back to Panther Owner's Club videos time after time. I'm starting to worry that I may be addicted or something.. And I don't even own a Panther ! (though that may have to change..)
A well made video, very enjoyable. I’ve had some pleasant holidays on the north Norfolk coast in Brancaster, there is an excellent military museum and a steam railway up there
I have owned two Panthers. I had a model twenty and a model one twenty. I sold them much to my regret. They are quite a rear machine here in New Zealand. That was forty years ago. And I still regret having to sell two of the best bikes I have ever had the pleasure to own
Great video. I've just been given one of these, along with a 1938 BSA B21. Together, they have been sat hidden in a garage for over fifty years. I have no experience of Panthers but it's a lovely little bike and I'm so looking forward to starting work on it.
Thank you Rick. The appreciative comments of subscribers are always encouragement to produce more videos. As with most of us this year there have been few opportunities to meet in fields but last year I rode the Vintage MCC's Banbury run on the 1930 Panther, with POC friend Nigel on his 250 BSA and over 400 other vintage motorcycles. I hope to post the video of that before the year is out.
The relaxing sound of a British single on an English country road - you can't beat it! They were made for one another. Although I like the Honda reliability for my everyday use, I must say, this film, with the sound of that exhaust, brought back some happy memories of rides on my 1938 Panther 100 many years ago.
Honda good grief. They've gone downhill. The old 70s, 80s ones were good Too complicated now. Can't even get to sparkplugss or airfilter easily. Can't stand modern bikes
This is by far one of most enjoyable streams on utube, Like your paced commentary along with the Panther's pleasing exhaust note, So refreshing after all the Hyper sports bikes videos I tend to watch,Which are far to fast and overpriced for me, Its was such a difference tobe able see the countryside!! Thanks for sharing, 👍
Wonderful ride in a classic 250 recovered with technical rigor. Wonderful trip in the meeting of companions of the time. Steamboat ride, a museum piece working with rigor and carrying a lot of cargo. Excellent video. I can only thank you!
lovely vid again JJ love the green English countryside. Reminds me of driving around Norfolk when we lived in Wymondham. Your little Panther sounds very sweet
The irony of it all, you're on lockdown and on your driveway I see a Lotus 7, Patrick McGoohan would easily identify with these times!!!!, is the Lotus original or a Caterham?, enjoyable video, also it's great that you say where you are, the names of the villages and where you're headed, I used to live in Knebworth and moved to Florida in 1993, I used to travel some of these roads on Sunday drives with my girlfriend...wow they allow you to gas up and then pay? I wonder if Allen Millyard's motorcycle would be able to keep up with your Panther? ruclips.net/video/ANwiN2jAa3s/видео.html
Thanks Rlll. The 'Seven' was scratch-built from plans in 2000, used for 12 years and now awaiting restoration. Whether the 250 RP could beat the Millyard machine would depend on the handicapper...

Lovely memories Brian. So much to learn at 14, knowledge which lasts forever.

Just great!, thanks JJ.
I think I've watched this about 6 times now, really a great video, especially when the weather out side is wet and cold.

Not any old fuel station, a M&S fuel station. I enjoyed the ride.

My idea of the perfect gift Harvey.
my 350 ducati with a short reverse megaphone was great sounding with the cone removed. Love another one.
I will never be able to make it over to England; but watching your videos, and listening to your voice is good enough for me. Cheers

Love your video. I had panther 600 and 650 both had busmar sidecar. Enjoyable times 1969 .
Another soothing and interesting video.
It sounds like a game little bike, running sweetly.
Thanks for a very enjoyable video your bikes are a credit to you
Lovely. Oliver Postgate lives on.
Thanks Steve. The rather old-fashioned style of presentation without flashing images or jangling instruments belongs to an earlier time, like me.
I love that word besmirched.
Thanks Ian. Gratifying to know that my effort to pass English at O Level was not in vain.

Thanks keen2b. It may be an age thing, the discovery in our later years that slower can also be better when motorcycling.

Another enjoyable jaunt across Norfolk Jonathan. Robust little bike.
very enjoyable - could have been longer, but thats a sign of a good video.....
I have to say, I find these vids quite charming. Keep up the good work. I'm surprised at how usable this particular bike seems to be on the road.
Enjoyed that thanks. Being a Norfolk bouy I could follow your journey on familiar roads.
Why did carbon build up cause a lack of compression? It suggest to me valve spring are on the weak side? Thks
Great Stuff !!
