This is in literally every city. Democrats want background checks and gun control so who is at fault for all these shootings? The gun rights NRA loving republicans.
it is a dirty little city that closes at 5. high crime rates and murder rates, Shawcross playground. the highest taxes in the nation. and when people explain rochester they point out things outside of it. some of the most contaminated soil from kodak. most homes in the city are falling apart and drug invested
@@WanderingWagars not interesting, but factual. its a dirty little city. and the poor are kept closed into one section of the city. big social workers playground
@@WanderingWagarsFactual viewpoint. DINOSAUR BBQ????? Why??? It's a franchise out of Syracuse; this is not even their flagship location! And you didn't even mention the fact that the building used to be the Lehigh Valley Railroad station.
Rochester It's a great city with allot of beautiful spots and places and with allot of great attractions but unfortunately the authorities like always not doing their job have failed to control the crime rate and the gangs who are selling allot of drugs and also carrying illegal guns into the city like always destroying all mayor cities in our beautiful country and there are way to many gun shots and violent crimes.

Such a beautiful city, Rochester is truly a hidden gem. I’ve lived all over the country and I still have yet to find anywhere that offers the quality of life and peaceful pace of life for the low cost of living that Rochester does. I dream of moving back often. I truly believe if New York voted out the Dems, WNY would be on fire with companies and families flocking there. The state government really holds it back.
I live in Rochester it's sucks crime rate threw the roof because of democrat policies. And people are leaving here because of those progressive attitudes
Then if progressives are only left, I’ll have to stay. We have no hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, our lake has no alligators or sharks, we have no pythons, it’s 30minutes at the most to get to the major airports to go overseas. If you don't have a good education or skill you will have to get them. Compared to many cities I have lived in over the past 40 years Rochester is a great place to live in. Best is the public education which is better than most places in the USA.
Great montage of our city. There are a couple of highlights that you missed, one of which is the nightlife. The ghetto section activities. If you didn't witness the drug deals, prostitutes and the nightly shootings you have missed something. Of course if you happened to tour these areas before noon you would not know these were bad areas because the welfare crowd is still comatose. Certainly there are great nightclubs and food is top notch but if you're going out after dark you need to have an armed escort. You toured some of the best food highlights our city has to offer,(The "Dinosaur" being my fave) but you missed the iconic "Nick Tahou's". People world wide know of the immortal "Garbage plate". Sadly this establishment resides in one of the city's worst crime areas and is not safe to go there even during daylight hours. Nick's earned it's reputation when it was still safe to go there. You also missed the history of the "Genesee Brewery" which originated in the late 1800s right here in "Roch-cha-cha", and funded the creation of Genesee Country Village which you did see. The brewery has it's own museum and restaurant with food that's over the top. Unlike other larger breweries Genesee is brewed here in Rochester and nowhere else in the world. We're kind of proud of that. And what about the home of Kodak? Rochester is where photography began. Conspicuous by it's absence, you made no mention of the tent encampments under the expressway overpasses and of course the ever present government corruption but a passing visitor could easily miss this. Certainly one's perspective of the quality of our city changes depending on where you live. If you live on the east side and commute to a 10th floor desk job it's not so bad. If you live on the west side where the working people live it's just a place you have to go to work then retreat at the end of the day. Anywhere inside the city proper is nowhere I would want to live and raise a family. The grass is not always greener as they say, unless you're referring to the marijuana trade here. Having been born here in the mid 50s I can say that your perception of our city matches that timeline, now however...not so much. Just to be fair, I'm sure any other city in America is comparative, everyplace has it's good and bad. Please come back for another visit, I'll be you're tour guide and show you some of the things you missed. Anyway, great video, keep up the good work.
Rochester is my hometown..., sad to see and fear what you have correctly outlined. The leadership of the city is and had been so poorly elected that is become one of those, 'of course they're corrupt' in place of, 'SOMEONE has to change'. What a great city it once was. I still have a few bars that I'm glad are still open. My two subs were born in what one was St. Marty's Hospital. Talk about rough neighborhoods. I think this video was great for highlighting what is still good... A couple 'miss-es' in my view would be The Rochester Jazz Fest, which I just enjoyed after returning from being gone about 30 years! For the most part, the Jazz Fest was absolutely AMAZING! THEN, the truth that Rochester has better chicken wings than Buffalo! One of my favorites would be Jeremiah's. Glad you told "the whole truth' because the city that I love, has degraded so much, that without better and honorable leadership, will continue to degrade.
Rochester is a dead city. The economy is the worst in the country. And the attitudes make it even more miserable. Maybe someday it will become a ghost town. I wouldn't mind. Only part about that dump that I respect is the oldest running market in the country. Over 125 years. Grew up going with my grandpappy. Then as an adult great restraunts were opened inside the market. But... the market is right next to the jungle. Very very dangerous area. This is stupid.
@@midnightryder611 Until about a century ago, Rochesterians still had the 'western Yankee' accent, and DID drop their R's. You can still find a few rural people south and southeast of the city who speak that way.

Shar-lot is how to pronounce the beach not like the name charllotte
Thank you!
Rochester died a long time ago. We left 30 years ago. Many in my family followed me. I never could have retired at 55 paying the outrageous taxes in NYS. I was just a regular working guy. I would still be working if I was there. Buying a new car every 4 years because of the rust. I have a F-250 18 years old. It looks like new. The crime and drugs killed 2 of my family members. The glory days are gone. The animals come out at night.
It’s become worse since you left. There’s a demographic problem. It’s the Detroit of New York.
Many cities are no better. Portland, OR makes Rochester look like a good option.
It hasn't died...if you decide to leave, just go. I love wstching the sunrise and sunset over the water on Lake Ontario. No better place to go biking then the erie canal. The music scene is awesome and the summer brings festival season...no this city isn't dead

I left Rochester it's a Democratic run down city.100's of HOMICIDES AND TO GET TO THESE NICE PLACES YOU HAVE TO DRIVE THROUGH RUN DOWN NEIGHBORHOODS. 4 MONTHS AGO A 10YR GIRL WAS SHOT 4 TIMES AND A GUY WAITING AT THE BUS STOP TO GO TO WORK GOT SHOT IN THE DEAD FOR NO REASON THIS CITY IS NOT SAFE YOU SHOULD TELL PEOPLE IF THEY GO THERE ITS AT THEIR OWN RISK.
Child shot in the face in a car seat while driving through Rochester a few weeks ago.
This is in literally every city. Democrats want background checks and gun control so who is at fault for all these shootings? The gun rights NRA loving republicans.
100% correct
I walk in Rochester all the time. I am not sure what in the world you are talking about.
a little late to this video but rochester crime rate is INSANEE. i’ve lived here my entire life and the only reason i won’t move is wegmans
the lack of garbage plates was disheartening
Apologies. I have them in my article.
it is a dirty little city that closes at 5. high crime rates and murder rates, Shawcross playground. the highest taxes in the nation. and when people explain rochester they point out things outside of it. some of the most contaminated soil from kodak. most homes in the city are falling apart and drug invested

Dude, whats with the music?
DINOSAUR BBQ????? Why??? It's a franchise out of Syracuse; this is not even their flagship location! They serve MEMPHIS-style BBQ, and absolutely none of the 'historical memorabilia" on display there has anything to do with Rochester. And you didn't even mention the fact that the building used to be the Lehigh Valley Railroad station.
Because their food is crazy good.
Spot on. If New York voted out the Dems, Rochester would be one of the best cities in America to live. There are problems, but they are fixable!
@@redcomic619 Yes it's a beautiful place men and but they have let turned into a gang and drug addicts land I agree Republicans would definitely would be doing a better job.

Heard 2 second hand accounts of students that transferred from MIT to RIT (Rochester Institute of Technology) and transferred back to MIT because RIT was too difficult.

We have no fires,no floods. All we have is snow and that’s no going to kill you. We also have normal temperatures in summer, not like the 100’s even a couple of states down get every day.

Thanks for the heads up! We’ll check it out the next time we’re in town.
@@WanderingWagars Tom Wahl's has the best burgers in Rochester! But DogTown has the best garbage plates - an absolute must! Also, it's Genesee Country Village & Museum, not Genesee County.
Let's also not forget Don & Bob's on Monroe ave. It served as a 2nd cafeteria for Brighton High School.
There was also Vic & Irv's out in seabreeze. That was my favorite back in the day.
Bill Grey's is just the one that won out over the rest, for some odd reason.
Don's original? it was good, no complaints, but didn't eat there all the time.
@@peterbelanger4094 dons original got better or something then because their burgers are amazing, the bun really makes it. Their fries are the thick crinkle cut as well. Schaller’s on Edgemere Drive is THE BEST burger joint in Rochester!
If you don't have a good education or skill you will have to get them. Compared to many cities I have lived in over the past 40 years Rochester is a great place to live in. Best is the public education which is better than most places in the USA.
I worked in the Rochester city school district. It's gotten pretty rough
So with thw ghetto and dieing economy I decided we had to get out. Off to Colorado I went. Will never look back. Except on youtube so I can trash that dump every chance I get.
You NAILED IT! 100% on everything. Sad to say.
