kay, I’ve always scratched my head about the obsession around the kislux book totes and their practicality, but this one is adorable!! Congratulations
Good video. You forgot to mention Barenia leather which was the original leather used by Hermes to make saddles. This is my favourite leather with Box at Hermes. There is also Veau Butler, usually offered in Sable colour, which looks like Tadelakt leather (shiny and smooth). All heritage leathers at Hermes which make them the most valuable for resale.
Wow! You are definitely the connoisseur of Hermes leathers! Thank you so much for enlightening us with that info. I will do more research on it and see what I can find. Thanks for supporting the channel! xoxox
Again...VERY informative!!!
I bought some raw python leather about 11-12 years ago and I've never gotten around to making anything with it. (I also bought some hair-on cow hides to perhaps make a tote or such at the same time.) I know that sounds kind of random, but I have a genetic creative streak. My 2nd great-grandfather was a shoemaker and further back in that line were a series of coppersmiths and silversmiths...but I didn't know that when I started making jewelry from copper and silver. It was "calling out to me", so I took some classes. (I also sew quite well, and intend to get back to that in retirement.) My mother has a silver bracelet that is handmade. Other than being handed down through her family, I don't know much more about it...but I'm going to make a pattern from it and recreate it so that it fits me.
I DO love the quality of Hermès! Of all the top-level designer bags, they speak most to me...but there's something inate within that makes me want to try to make my own SLG's. I'm not sure I'm up to a handbag.
Thank you for sharing! I'm sure you have the talent to turn your precious leather into something beautiful... keep us posted if you do. Good luck! xoxo
I love kislux that on the butterfly bag it says auguri / tanti auguri which means happy birthday
Thanks
Thank you for such in depth review. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful and thanks for supporting the channel.
Fantastic video!
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Great info!
Glad it was helpful!
This was most helpful!! I'm in the market for one but it's hard to choose when I haven't seen all the leathers in person. This was very informative 🙏
You're so welcome and thanks for watching! xoxox
You can go into the store and ask an Sales Associate to see their leather book. In the book, you can see and feel every leather they have. Even if they don't actually have a bag in that leather you can experience a small "swatch" of the leather. 😊
@@DeKat-84 Wow thanks for the great tip!! This is helpful. Im going to do that next time Im in the store 🤗
Thank you, such a good informative video ❤
You are so welcome!
Hello! I struggle to agree with you in some points. You are right, that Swift does not hold its value that good, but because of such videos and influencers, saying that Epsom is so durable and scratch resistant. Swift and box, as well as Clemence are waaaay better when it comes to restoration because of minimal finish, Hermes is able truly restore the leather instead of just painting Epsom. And if you for whatever reason scratch Epsom on the main body of the bag, Hermes will not do anything with it, whereas with Swift it is possible to get rid of scratches. So long term Swift is much better than Epsom, but people do not think about it and quality of leather, they ready to pay for plastic finish for the illusion of durability.
Thanks for your wonderful insight. I do agree that the leather may be "enhanced" to increase its durability... and undoubtedly, Swift leather is so luxurious to touch that I can understand its appeal. For me, if I were to own a Kelly, Box leather would be my first choice.
Great video and very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
Love your thumbnail by the way ❤
Thank you for your comment... really appreciate it.
The rarest Hermes leather of all is TRIOKA leather. Can’t even find a bag in TRIOKA leather on sale!!! The rarest of all!
Thank you, I was looking for a review on Evercolor leather but it was not mentioned.
No worries! I'll look into it for next time.
Very informative! 👍 Investment value aside I like the Epson leather. 😊
Glad it was helpful! Honestly I would be happy with any Hermes leather bag.
Epsom leather is one of my favourites too! It is very tough and scratch-resistant in my opinion and experience (I have a wallet made from it).
Thank you so much for this video! Where would evergrain calfskin fall? Is it swift? I am considering a Jypsiere mini and they seem to come only in that leather lately.
Thanks for sharing your question. I checked on Purse Forum and it is very similar to Swift leather, a bit more floppy but also very luxurious to touch. Hope you get your dream bag! Here is the link to the site if that helps. forum.purseblog.com/threads/looking-for-enlightenment-swift-vs-evergrain.456315/
@@evelyneveryday many thanks, you are too kind 😊
Amazing video ! Very helpful!
BUT why Hermes bags get really damaged in the corners? Witch leather age better In birkins?
Good question! I think because the corner of the bags is a high contact point so they get worn out easily. I think goat or box leather would be my choice.
I feel like I'm carrying a piece of luxury art when I hold my H Q D U P S shandbag. The exquisite design and meticulous craftsmanship make it a true masterpiece.
thanks
What about Volynka (Russian) Leather? Hermes did a limited edition creation of bags in the 2018 / 2019 timeframe. The bags were a HAC, Plume, Bolide, and I believe an agenda.
Thanks so much for sharing!
E o couro tadelack?
Hi. What about Buffalo? Where does it fall on durability scale?
Will need to research that
Hello Evelyn, for a man looking for a wallet from Hermes, which leather to consider?
I would go for Box or Epsom leather...
What method of fastening of handles is more sturdy birkin mayby kelly
I have a video on how to best maintain your Birkin bag and its handles. Hope you can check it out!
Any thoughts on fjord leather?
I haven't studied that one but will upload a new video if I get more info. Thanks for watching!
Is Chev and Swift the same?
No unfortunately they are different. Chèvre is goat skin
If you could find an artisan who could make a Birkin bag, like H Q D U P S , and if you had the opportunity to buy the exact same Hermès leather, same hardware, and pay a tenth of that, I highly doubt you would buy it ethically
#lvguci I love you so much and watching your videos makes my day brighter❤
