Niko was a complicated character and seemingly truly regretted his past actions. Unfortunately, violence was all he knew. He was a hard man in a hard world.
What I always appreciate about this particular pause menu theme is that there’s a lingering hint of constant suffering and misery which fits Niko and the Soviet people’s general outlook on life as well as the city’s gloomy coldness.
It's a bit weird, but I miss the 2000's and the dreary aesthetic from all of the movies, videos, music, and such. Like... the 90s and 2000s were great. The newer side of the gen Z doesn't at all stick with me, but I guess I was just born closer to the transition point of millennials to gen z.

Back in 2008.. I remember it, some game came out 2 days after my 5th birthday.. I see it in my eyes.. The Game name was GTA 4.. My parents bought it for my older brother for his PS3.. And I was sitting on the couch and staring at that box tv we had back in the day, and watching everything what my brother did in the game.. I remember I wanted to play it too, but he told me I can't.. Because i am too young for that(he was 13 when I was 5) and everytime he came to play this game I sit next to him watching him. I got into the GTA franchise with SA. Best in the time.. Then few years later when everybody was using torrents to download lots of stuff I came across it. Then all of my memories came back.. I remembered I downloaded it instantly, I didn't care that my PC was trash It couldn't even start it.. So I dug out my brother Old PS3 from the attic, and fired her up, and played the story until I completed it. Gosh it was much easier back then, then it is now. The human nature never tend to realise the worth and the beauty of some of the things until it's gone. Now I am working a full time job, and going into University, I understand more about the game.. About the story and the atmosphere. God I miss those times.

GTA IV was the most down to earth title in terms of story telling by far. Living your dream is hard and at some point it will be shattered into pieces. I've also longed for the dream to be there but it unfortunately has died off recently.
the 90's and 2000's were rough, but I feel almost nostalgia for it... Like the way you hear people make fun of middle aged men that are actually in their 50s and 60s now (goddamn, bro) nostalgic about the 1980s.
Yeltsin was shit, and I'm glad Putin turned the country around and revitalized our economy and army. The media talks about our economy and military now, but look at Yeltsin's era. A dream for the future was lost when the USSR collapsed.
It's a little bit of everything, I think. Scary. Depressing. Ominous. Entertaining. Beautifully arranged. It's a very interesting piece of music. Plus the NYC background video makes it perfect.
"The American Dream... it was broken a long time ago. There was never a dream of fulfilment in this god forsaken city. I should've just died off all those years ago so the pain would've never inflicted me." - Niko Bellic (quote I made up)
The Art direction of GTA 4 is really an author vision, it's very deep. it shows the lack of meaning and the existential crysis that we see from the gen Z. huge koyaanisqatsi vibes
Very chilling really, sounds like something you may hear while slowly dying on finally quiet battlefield, when snow fall on your face and you can't even move because shrapnel destroyed your spinal cord, all that left for you is to enjoy your concussion and blood loss induced audio-hallucination, last echo of your snow-crashing consciousness
GTA IV : A story of a lost soul, seeking redemption only to be heading into a darker hole. Making morally questionable choices and affecting the lifes around him in a river of darkness, surrounded by neon lights. 2 DLC stories about characters throughout the story, showing a bigger world around them. Also some multiplayer with basic Deathmatch and sandbox fun. GTA V : A funny and wacky modern-satirical story about 2 old Heisters and a young kid go do heists again while dealing with their personal lifes. Also no one cares about the story anymore as we abandoned all content, it's all online grind with lots of sharkcards and limiting how you get money.
Playing GTA 4 changed my perspective on life. About the happiness, the deceptions, the good times you need to remember because they will never come back to you. But if you question everything you do everyday, everything comes back to you and destroys everything you ever believed in.
I’m not sure if I just did this but on the episodes I used to kill cops get 6 stars then use the building skylifts and shoot helicopters on the roof fun times 😩
