it is the best gta. but it is not underrated 😂 i think every single grand theft auto fan adores this game and rightly so. its the game that took gaming as we know it today in a whole other direction and paved the way for open world immersive story telling and gameplay
not only that but the character development and how in depth niko is and how you can genuinely tell my gameplay alone how much and angry cold hearted piece of shit he is. but at the same time you can tell he hates the way he lives and hates what the war did to him. but he is compelled to revenge. which brings me to my biggest disagreement about the game. the fact that you get the choice to allow the man that betrayed niko to live. i think with how the game portrays him niko would not hesitate to shoot him on sight at any chance he got.
This game is criminally underrated. It was so much darker and more serious than the others. It was almost like they took the open world and crime aspects of GTA, but the tone and atmosphere of the first Max Payne. GTA V (though stale by now) has a good setting, sure, but compared to this it'd be like comparing a movie with a darker theme to a TV show that focuses on comedy alongside it's real story. That's not to say V is bad, but compared to what they did with 4, it feels like a downgrade
Menos al san andreas, están muy parejos sin embargo el san andreas es más completo en cuanto a jugabilidad, entorno, personalización, armas, etc, gta 4 brilla por su gran historia y personajes, además de sus gráficos y físicas tan realistas y memorables, el sistema de combate cuerpo a cuerpo, los tiroteos, etc, sin contar que San Andreas también tiene una excelente historia y personajes... además recuerda que San andreas es una obra maestra hecha para una limitada ps2 en esa época.

When I was a young stoner when I would pause the game and after a while hear that music was such a nice touch to the game because it felt like a reprieve from the madness
This game really captures the dark and gritty vibe of New York. The only game that comes close to the gritty approach of this game was Spiderman 2, but it's gets wasted of putting too much attention to Venom and Mary Jane.
The only difference is that GTA IV showcases the sad reality of NYC especially in murder. I live 20 min driving from NYC and even over here it's terrible.. I do hope GTA VI captures the aspect in the tragedy side again..
