The Battle of Poltava (June 27, 1709) was a major battle of the Northern War between Russian troops under the command of the Russian Tsar Peter I and the Swedish army under the command of the Swedish King Charles XII. The defeat of the Swedish army led to a turning point in the Northern War in Russia's favor and, as a result, to its victory in the Northern War.
@StefanRixö yes, and yet they initially were winning the battle, until Charles left the battlefield, due to injuries. Without his bold tactical mind and charismatic leadership, numerical superior Russian force, quickly regained initiative, driving Swedes back, annihilating them.
The thing with the Carolus Rex album was that most of the band members quit before it was finished. Joakim and Pär were the only two left and they tried to finish the album(s) by themselves. So with this song they probably hadn't recorded any guitar solo before their guitarists departed... This was an issue I believe with several of the songs but I can't remember which ones. Joakim did mention it in an interview...
Yea, probably a keyboard solo... Sabaton did use the keyboard a bit more back then... in "Lion from the north" (same album as this) half the solo is on the keyboard.
There is a Christmas song from Sabaton to. The name Christmas truce🤗 Hope everything is fine with you and your family? And i hope you go for a awesome week. Rick. Greeting from me and my family.❤🌹🤗
The movie this was taken from is primarily a Russian propaganda film, making the Russians seem more heroic that they were. The defeat of the "invincible" Swedish army was a huge victory for Russia, ofc they capitalise on it every chance they get (every time they do, I just mention the battle of Narva as a counter point). The Swedish army was at a severe disadvantage at Poltava, with their King and commander wounded and unable to lead effectively. They also had supply problems and had almost no cannons at the battle, as they had to leave those behind as they marched to the battle. Oh yeah, and they marched day and night to get to Poltava, so the troops were exhausted too. Yet, still the Swedish troops managed to capture several of the Russian positions by sheer power of will, before eventually losing due to the enemies superior numbers.
Indeed, pure propaganda! In fact, the cowardly Russians cowardly defeated the strongest army in Europe only because King Charles was wounded in the leg, and the brave Swedish soldiers suffered from insect bites. If this film had shown that the Russians had lost at Poltava, then it would have been a "truthful and impartial" movie. Aren't you amused by the nonsense you're saying? Or are you haunted by the phantom pains of defeat?

Thanks
Which in turn was a beggining of an end of Swedish Empire and its 100 year long run for dominion over the Baltic.
Russia had 3 'times more' soldiers than Sweden.... 3 to 1🇸🇪
@StefanRixö yikes

Скажите что и в битве с Бонапартом русским помогла зима так же как и с Адольфом и с османами(где султана поддерживали Англия и Франция )
