  • In August 2019, my friends and I decided to challenge ourselves and go camping for the first time. We decided to visit Garibaldi Lake, an alpine lake in the Garibaldi Provincial Park famous for its turquoise color. We camped, and then hiked up to the Panorama Ridge. None of us are hikers, so this was a huge challenge to us. This is basically a video of our struggles in the wild for the first time.
    ---- Our Itinerary -----
We left the Rubble Creek Parking lot at 2pm and arrived at the campground around 6:30pm. Hikers usually do both the Garibaldi hike and the Panorama Ridge in the same day, but because we didn't start until the afternoon, we decided to continue the hike the next day. We woke up the next day around 6am to prepare to hike up the Panorama Ridge. We left for the Ridge at 8am, and reached summit at 12pm. By the time we returned to Garibaldi, it was almost 4pm. After having a late lunch, we headed back down, and reached the parking lot before 8pm.

You are supposed to hang your food because of bears as well. Animals also learn that they can look for food in those areas and become comfortable and reliant on humans which can be very dangerous.
Please also take some time to learn about the ten essentials and the 7 principles of leave no trace, these will help you and everyone else have a better experience and keep these areas intact.

There's a U-shaped piece of dust on your camera's sensor or lens, upper center right :)

You would have to check with the park webpage about backcountry wilderness camping, but from what I know, I don't think you can camp at the top of the ridge

Awesome video but remember when you go camping especially in the backcountry. Also hang up your food in a bear bag or bear canister. Other than that safe adventures
