When I began taking guitar lessons at 7 years old it was my goal to learn this song. Great song to learn for a beginner. Tricky with the verses but fun chorus and easy solo. I would call this song the patriarch of my guitar career. Thank you 3 Doors Down.
Well I dont consider this quite a beginner friendly song I am learning it and really struggling with everything. I would consider Lenny Kravitz - Fly Away more begginer friendly or Robbert Tepper - No easy Way out

I'm with ya on this,I learned a few basic chords way back In the day and never done much with them but since I've found Marty and have been practicing and studying non stop for almost a year now He has helped me gain a lot of confidence and I'm well above the beginner stages and to a point that everyday I'm getting better and better.I did watch a very few other teachers on here but Marty Is the best and he's the nicest one of them all.

The next one you should do is Breaking the Law by Judas Priest. It is a fairly easy song, and lots of beginners (just like me) come here to find some good tutorials, so this one wouldn't be bad at all.
All other tutorials on youtube are a bit meeh, so we are waiting for you!
Learning this song for my dad he lost his friend Steven about 25 years ago this is the song he heard after leaving the hospital after he sadly lost the battle with cancer I’m proud to say I’m named after such a brave strong man Steven and I’m learning it for him and my dad

Must say, you talk all the right steps for beginners to actually get what’s going on between parts. Your speed is perfect , just enough repetition for someone novice like myself to grasp and practice til perfected. Kudos amigo! Much appreciated for the tune you take to break down!

Legend has it, this handless guitar-playing man learned to play guitar with his feet and was even able to complete the whole instrumental song and move on to more difficult instrumental metal songs.

Hey Marty, you are the best, I’ve learned quite a few songs from you! One thing I would like to ask is at the end of you showing how to play the song could u play through the song and just call out the changes from chorus, bridge, etc... cause I get the parts you show but when it comes to putting it all together I sometimes get messed up with the transitions. I appreciate all u do, and the consideration of this request. All the best!

On the opening part, why do you down stroke each ascending note? I've seen others do it that way too. It makes more sense to go down up down up.
