    • @beymariah2188
      @beymariah2188 5 лет назад +105

      Well, a healthy diet is only a portion of what ultimately affects your skin; I don't think she was saying diet is the ONLY important factor. Genetics, natural oil levels, hormones, skin care, and many other factors ultimately contribute to the final result. I would highly suggest finding a good aesthetician to help you figure out what exactly is causing breakouts specifically for your skin.

    • @adryana90
      @adryana90 5 лет назад +66

      Same. I eat very healthy, I workout. I sleep enough, don't drink, nor smoke. So people must stop saying that your skin is what you eat cause it is not. I know people who eat fast food every single day and have amazing skin. I have Hashimoto and since having hypothyroidism, my acnee, at almost 29, is quite bad. It's more about genetics, hormones, stress.

    • @Maialeen
      @Maialeen 5 лет назад +20

      It's definitely not. My skin is not bad but it doesn't react to food or drink at all. If I eat sweet and greasy food it's the same as if I drink lots of water and eat clean. Food is not a trigger for everyone.

    Did Miss Anastasia aesthetician herself just say oils before water products? Oil can penetrate water, water CANNOT penetrate oil. Everything you're putting on top of oil is going to sit there and do nothing. Also, putting more than one moisturizer on is literally wasting product. And the makeup wipes!!! Jesus. I agree about your first point but I don't know about the second. She's over 60 years old. Maybe more than one moisturizer is overkill if you're in your 20s/30s. Skin can get so dry as we age.

    • @monineath8490
      @monineath8490 5 лет назад +68

      I agree with your point about putting on oils before watery products. However, I think she's layering on a lot of serums and moisturizers because the more you mature, the dryer your skin gets. I'm barely 20 so using a pea-sized amount of a standard moisturizer is enough for me, but Anastasia is 60 and has to compensate more. Makeup wipes are abrasive and wasteful, but at least she used a gentle cleanser after and washed off the residue. Clearly improvements need to be made, but she looks great for her age and it's clearly working for her so I'd say that she's doing okay lol.

    • @lnorwood9372
      @lnorwood9372 5 лет назад +41

      @___ thomas Good lord, it absolutely matters and is completely scientific. Water based products have the ability to be absorbed into the deepest layers of our skin, whereas oil cannot because the molecules are too big to cross the skin barrier. If you put oil on before water based products, you are effectively trapping all of the products you put onto the oil and causing them to stay on the surface of the skin instead of being absorbed, making them basically useless. For reference, put oil and water in a cup. They immediately separate and the oil creates a barrier that water cannot cross. Skincare is not like makeup where you can do whatever you want and its fine- skincare is literally science. Doing it this way will not hurt her, but she's basically wasting all of these products.

    • @lnorwood9372
      @lnorwood9372 5 лет назад +13

      ___ thomas dude, water molecules can not penetrate oil. So yes, it performs exactly like water and oil in a cup. My point with that analogy was to remind you that water and oil separate for a reason and that water cannot penetrate oil. By “mixing” the cup, you usually mix the two for a time before they separate again. You need special ingredients/chemicals to force water and oil to truly mix, so what your saying doesn’t make sense.

      I remember seeking out a label to read what magical ingredients were within this exorbitantly priced cream... And was shocked at the petroleum ingredients (mineral oil, I think?). It's a controversial ingredient to some, but it's definitely inexpensive. There might be other great marine ingredients etc etc... But really? Hmm.
      Frankly, I don't believe any skin product is worth that price.
      Some people just adore it. Honestly wonder if a good part of its hype is BECAUSE of the cost tbh. 🙄🤔😬

    She's wrong about using oils first - you're supposed to use products lightest to heaviest - ask most dermatologists - start with a serum, end with an oil. Starting with oil means what you put on top will have difficulty penetrating the oil barrier, so she's essentially wasting money putting other products on top. Also, makeup wipes are bad for skin and the environment.

    She’s totally wrong saying that oil should go before water. She’s talking about weight of molecules, but it is about SIZE of molecules (watery molecules are usually way smaller than oily). If you want your serums penetrate into the skin, YOU MUST use water based serums FIRST and after you can use oil based products. It makes me so angry when someone spreading misinformation. 🙈

    Interesting to see that the queen herself doesn't have the 'dip brow brows' that everyone on insta seems to have.

    • @luna.37
      @luna.37 5 лет назад +7

      That's NOT how DipBrow is meant to be used, and she NEVER uses it in that overly heavy, IG way. I've heard her say as much more than once.
      It's meant to be an amount that fits on a pin head. They suggest placing it in the lid, and taking a small portion on the angle brush, gently working it in so the brush hair tips have product, then using the brush to make feathery, hair-like strokes to fill in sparse areas. Similar can be used around the perimeter, very lightly, brushing through with the spoolie after/during application to keep it more natural looking.
      But people took it and went wild, painting it on with enough product to fill brows of dozens of people.
      I mean, I can dig a dramatic brow with a great arch, for sure. But SO many have taken it to "Sharpie brow" territory, and it looks pretty harsh in person.
      Anastasia started her famous clients with Cindy Crawford, then Naomi Campbell, and others quickly followed. Years later the Kardashian family (before their game)... You don't see them with Sharpie brows, right?
      You can watch her doing brows in a number of videos over the years.

    • @kenetrice
      @kenetrice 5 лет назад +9

      Well to be completely honest, brows are something that should be individual and customized to each person's face. There is a reason why full brows look great on some people, but not on others. Their face structure can handle a fuller brow look. If you put a full brow on someone with features that can't handle it, it overpowers their small features and it is all you can stare at. Her brows fit her face nicely. She looks good with the thinner brow and they weren't TOO thin. Perfect for her face shape.

      Well, not everyone has thick, lush brows naturally, and brows tend to thin as we age, especially the outer ⅓. She IS sixty... Not twenty. No shame there.
      She also commented hers were overly thin ages ago, and suffered from that excessive tweezing (ahh, the 90s. Seemed like a good idea at the time?!).
      So her brows fall I go the Golden Ratio proportions she teaches, in terms of shaping. She can't control if they don't grow in very thick... So you work with what you have.
      So "nice"? If by nice you mean thick and bushy as has been trendy, then no. But too much can look silly, too, especially someone with a smaller frame, and someone more mature.
      Sleek and well-shaped is her "thing", and she does well with what she has. Creating full & bushy ones would be too overpowering on her face. Hers suit her build/face shape, and style.

Think about when you put oils on your skin and then get splashed with water, the water beads up and runs off because it can't penetrate that oil. Therefore, by putting that oil on first, she pretty much blocked the rest of her water-based products from being able to fully penetrate and absorb into the skin. Bless her heart. Spending several hundred dollars per product just to have the majority of it sit on her face.
