The pandemic of obesity has led to increased incidence of mon alcoholic liver disease (NAFLD) and subsequently liver cirrhosis.
Metabolic surgery is considered the ultimate treatment for obesity and has proven to improve liver fibrosis. As it can be a high-risk procedure in already cirrhotic patients, the type of procedure and the optimal timing are crucial.
