You mentioned having a toxic relationship and not wanting to mention it...I study toxic relationships and I just wanted to say that if and when you're ever ready, it would be great for your young audience to hear about that experience one day. It might help others recognise if they are in a similar situation. I'm assuming you majorly have a fairly young audience so this might be helpful at some point...again, if and when you're ever ready. Then get up off your ass and go do your thing. I'm fifty-one and I was a career bartender. I'm legally, psychologically disabled now (in part due to the industry) and I literally just woke up from a 24-hour nap. Not as fun as you'd think considering I dreamt I was back at work and bad things were happening. This dream is recurring. I'm stuck with it because I stayed too long in a place I didn't want to be, and I didn't feed my inner self because I didn't think I was worth it. I remember getting up once to pee but since it was dark I went back to the same old dream. But this isn't about me. Not really. It's about us. But I'll be using myself as an example. If Anna Grace had been speaking to me 30 years ago I would be in a much different place, despite the things that happened to me. Currently my shelter is comfortable, my being is reasonably safe and my belly is full. But I'm still skating around my own private event horrizon. How I'm living is someone else's idea of home, I speak to no one outside of it offline, and every single grocery item is an argument. It's all my mother's little slice of heaven because I'm a mess. Full freaking circle. Trust me, you don't want your mother to be your safety net -- you need to build that for yourself. HOWEVER I'm an adult and I put myself here. With every small, seemingly insignificant choice I made out of sheer exhaustion. For decades. If *any* of this comment sounds familar to you then you need this video no matter how old you are. As long as I can keep myself awake🙄I'm only just starting to fight for my happiness. It's an easier fight than waiting for the person holding you back to die -- especially if it's your only person. And she is my only person. I need something to hold onto once she's gone because there needs to be a point to being alive and on my own. I must be winning that fight though, because we're selling this damned house and moving back to the woods. It's the only place I've ever wanted to be and she's had her way for half a century. For the unimaginative out there -- I'm not s*icidal, I'm not homicidal, or anything violent. The last time I got angry was when a worker carelessly killed George the Grasshopper, who spent weeks on my shoulder watching the sunset with me. RIP George, you big, beautiful rainbow-colored nutter. Come to think of it because of her size, I think George was a she. Name still fits. Sorry for the creepy introduction, Anna. I promise I'm not always like this and there will be normal comments from here on.😅The video just hit me in a very good way. I'm fifty-one and I was a career bartender. I'm legally, psychologically disabled now (in part due to the industry) and I literally just woke up from a 24-hour nap. Not as fun as you'd think considering I dreamt I was back at work and bad things were happening. This dream is recurring. I'm stuck with it because I stayed too long in a place I didn't want to be, and I didn't feed my inner self because I didn't think I was worth it. I remember getting up once to pee but since it was dark I went back to the same old dream. But this isn't about me. Not really. It's about us. But I'll be using myself as an example.
If Anna Grace had been speaking to me 30 years ago I would be in a much different place, despite the things that happened to me. Currently my shelter is comfortable, my being is reasonably safe and my belly is full. But I'm still skating around my own private event horrizon. How I'm living is someone else's idea of home, I speak to no one outside of it offline, and every single grocery item is an argument. It's all my mother's little slice of heaven because I'm a mess. Full freaking circle. Trust me, you don't want your mother to be your safety net -- you need to build that for yourself.
HOWEVER I'm an adult and I put myself here. With every small, seemingly insignificant choice I made out of sheer exhaustion. For decades. If *any* of this comment sounds familar to you then you need this video no matter how old you are. As long as I can keep myself awake🙄I'm only just starting to fight for my happiness. It's an easier fight than waiting for the person holding you back to die -- especially if it's your only person. And she is my only person. I need something to hold onto once she's gone because there needs to be a point to being alive and on my own. I must be winning that fight though, because we're selling this damned house and moving back to the woods. It's the only place I've ever wanted to be and she's had her way for half a century.
For the unimaginative out there -- I'm not s*icidal, I'm not homicidal, or anything violent. The last time I got angry was when a worker carelessly killed George the Grasshopper, who spent weeks on my shoulder watching the sunset with me. RIP George, you big, beautiful rainbow-colored nutter. Come to think of it because of her size, I think George was a she. Name still fits.
