@EpicDude I'm mainly talking about the guy at 1:05 who gets chin level with the rim. I've been watching basketball since the 80s and not a single player has ever jumped that high. There is no way that rim is 10 feet tall - more likely is like 9 feet.
As far as 50 inch verticals go - I'd have to see it official measured to believe it. Most of the greatest NBA leapers in the world have around a 42" vert. Think about it this way - a player's head who is 6' 6" is 42" below the rim - for that 6' 6" guy to get chin level with the rim he'd have to have at least a 52" vert which I've never seen.
And for a 6 foot guy to get chin level to the rim he'd have to have around a 58" vertical. If that's the case - lets go find Bigfoot.
Well he lifted his chin upwards. He probably would be able to be chin level with around a 50 inch vertical, not a 58 inch vertical.
As far as NBA players, they don't need more than a 42 inch vertical because they're already tall. They need to know how to play basketball well, not to set high jump records. There are plenty of NON-NBA players who can jump higher and dunk better than a large majority of past and present NBA players.
58" Vertical, you do realize only a couple of human beings have ever been able to get that high up off of the ground right? You do realize that most NBA players don't run up to the rim to see how high they get. Young Hollywood has a minimum of a 50" vertical, he's around 5'11" and can get his head over the rim. To get your head at the rim at his height you need a 49" vertical. Because 10' = 120 inches, 5'11" = 71 inches. 120-71 = 49 inches to get the top of your head at the rim, he's clearing the rim at around nose level if his head wasn't pointed upwards, which adds a few inches, which therefore would be in the 50" zone (around 53-54) but since that rim is 9'10", that would deduct his overall vertical by 2" if we use that shot at 1:05 which would still leave him in the 51-52" vertical range.
you obviusly have no idea about basketball there are a few guys in the nba who can reach there head at or above the rim, for example Gerald green, lebron in his prime or blake griffin
YetiOnIce Gerald Green and LeBron are both 6' 8" and yes they can probably get eye level with the rim but NOT chin level like the guy at 1:05 in this video which is no where close to 6' 8". That's why I'm pretty sure that guy did that on a 9 or 9 1/2 foot rim.
