He has in fact had a federal investigator decide that the only reason he's not being prosecuted is because he's not mentally fit to stand trial. The "analyst" made it abundantly clear that the argument before the court (inflammatory, false rhetoric by Trump to his supporters) was secondary to "impressing the judge". To anyone even casually following the case, this judge was never going to be impressed by any argument from the prosecutor's side. And it sounds like the judge was constantly interrupting the state counsel, and when he finally called her out on it, she admonished him, saying she "doesn't appreciate his tone". Cannon is obviously stepping very carefully to slow-walk the case, and ignore important points while holding hearings on minutiae that other judges wouldn't waste time on... Hopefully she finally oversteps and gives Jack Smith the grounds he needs to have her removed from the case!

@@colleenc9286 Tell me how Merchan or Engoran "overstepped" exactly. Merchan allowed Trump to commit 11 instances of contempt of court and STILL did not withdraw his pretrial release. This is a judge that would have cancelled any John Doe's pretrial release and thrown him in jail for the duration of the trial with even ONE contempt of court. These judges are always bending over backward to give Trump preferential treatment. So yeah, I do agree that Merchan "overstepped". He overstepped by allowing a man who was blatantly and daily committing contempt of the US court procedure and STILL did not put him behind bars as he would have any other person. And Engoran allowed people on the jury who had social media postings like "Trump can shoot someone on 5th Ave and I would still vote for him" to stay on the jury. Luckily, those same people actually did their duty and decided their verdict based on evidence and agreed that he was liable and guilty.

My main takeaway was ,he felt they didn't need to be confirmed by the Congress as always despite the fact that provision for the Special person was no longer a law or act of Congress. The Special Counsel position is Now FULLY independent of any oversight with as much financial funds needed at his or her discretion. Lots of information I'm not accustomed to. I can say that I do like that Congress has been making clear the pathways taken by the Government to prosecute political candidates. It's Grim to some folks. Useful and used often by different Administrations. Mr. Smith is well known for when working for former President Obama he prosecuted the Tea Party Leadership which some say caused their movement to end. Their department oversight is important. Oversight of their department is important. Investigations are a function of government oversight, so and so forth. Seems simple doesn't it? I really can't give it all, "a Plus" or "a minus."

I need an investigation into Judge Cannon's conduct, including communications she's had with Trump's campaign or staff. I suspect there's some back channel conversations happening with her, directing/suggesting her to act the way she's acting. There's enough speculative evidence to warrant legitimate questions about her objectivity. Or, at a minimum, he capability to preside over a case of the magnitude. But I stick by my original point that there's something fishy going on here.
How about we see the communication between the white house and NY, Bragg refused to take the case until an employee from the justice department stepped down and joined the NY prosecutors office .... Kind of funny how that worked. Isn't it?

I’m angry that the judge refuses to acknowledge the power of Trump’s words - if prosecutors didn’t include the data (like the 200 plus pages in NY criminal trial), that’s a shame. It doesn’t change the fact that Trump has incited violence with his words.
