My father was a B-17 bomber pilot who held his burning plane steady until all of his crew had bailed out before bailing out himself. He and his crew were all captured by the SS. and spent the last 9 months of the war in a POW camp in Barth on the Baltic in Germany. He and two others escaped from the liberating Russians who were no longer our allies at that point. The memoir that he finally wrote is horrifying. He suffered from undiagnosed, untreated PTSD and survivors guilt right up until he died at age 92. I have never in my life hated anyone like I hate the subhuman who called McCain and Bush Sr, and would have called my father a loser.

There's the key: decent, sane people do NOT follow and vote for such a person. His followers prefer to believe whatever Trump says, no matter what it is. They can't be troubled to look at facts, nor at things that might make them uncomfortable in the their choice.

When former military generals speak out against a political figure that is an act of desperation and patriotism. It has long been a military informal code that high ranking officers remain apolitical even after retirement. They are going against their code in a desperate attempt to save our democracy. We will see how many more follow their example and the effect it will have on the rank and file military.

From the U.K. I've always been aware as a Brit, who has lived in freedom and democracy, which I admit isn't perfect, that this is largely because of Britain's American allies during WW2. My heart go's out to those young Americans, who died on the beaches of Normandy and in other theatres. I find it almost unbelievable that your country's President wouldn't respect these brave men who gave their lives to prevent the Fascists taking over Europe. I haven't always agreed with American policies, but I will be forever grateful to the sacrifices Americans made, which allowed me to live a life of freedom. My concern now, is I see your great country slipping towards fascism. Democracy, freedom and a responsible and independent judiciary are the greatests gifts a nation can have. America, you are not without fault, but please, for your own sake and that of the free world, don't vote in a dictator, who would take these rights from you.

On a personal basis, I look on aghast at ' the corruption of your political system. I don't think I'm alone in this. As a European citizen, I have two main concerns with Trump:
1. His foreign policy is isolationist. He pulled America out of the Paris Agreement as well as the WHO. It's a possibility that Trump might pull out of (or at least back from) NATO this time.
2. Him buddying up with Putin.
Both concerns stem from the fact that we have a neighbour in the East waging war.
Then I of course empathize with Americans and their concerns with Trump.
The saddest aspect of all this is the millions of registered voters who feel the same way Trump does; they WANT a Dictator.........

I'm a citizen of the greatest country in the world (today). I am former military. I served under both presidents I liked, one that I loved, and others that I tolerated. But always with respect, because that is what is expected with your Commander and Chief. This video had me for quite awhile, rethinking President Trump (and, if you don't like the way I put that, President before the name of anyone who has ever held office is deserved). I thought this video would go further than it did to make me rethink my position. It bent me, but did not break me. Because I DO NOT LIKE either candidate. Why are we so stupid to accept this?!?!?!?! You want Biden, therefore nobody, to win? He is not in charge. You don't want Trump to win? Then the Republican Party should put up a viable candidate! But no, we get railroaded into two choices, either of which might lead straight to hell. But we are sheep, and we accept it. Enjoy yourselves with either candidate. The lesser of two evils. I finally know what axiom means. God bless America.

My father was also a B-17 pilot, who held his shot-up, burning plane steady so his crew could bail out safely. About 15 seconds after he bailed out, his plane blew up. He had German luftwaffe fighters shooting at him as he drifted down in his parachute and he was also captured shortly after he landed by the SS. He spent 18 months in a POW camp near Barth (Stalag Luft 1). He also fled after first being liberated by the Russians and made their way back to the American lines. During that trek, he came across a political POW camp with gas chambers, etc. He was so overwhelmed at how human beings could treat their fellow human beings like this and he never got over what he saw, especially in that camp. He to suffered from undiagnosed and untreated PTSD until the day that he died, at the young age of 66. I despise Donald Trump and everything he stands for. The bone spur pansy has no idea of what people went through to protect our Democracy and fight for his right to free speech. For any American to make these disparaging remarks about our service men is truly despicable but when the President of the United States makes these remarks, it is unforgivable and something every American should consider, when casting their ballots when voting!
In this country we punish athletes for kneeling during the national anthem. Yet, much of the same people who called for these athletes to be fired stand with firm conviction behind Trump after making disparging remarks about service members, and agitating an insurrection. The hypocrisy is astounding.
